“I will stand on my guard post
And station myself on the rampart;
And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me,
And how I may reply when I am reproved.
Then the Lord answered me and said,
‘Record the vision
And inscribe it on tablets,
That the one who reads it may run.
For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay.’” (Habakkuk 2:1-3 NASB1995)
Habakkuk was a man of God, a prophet of God who served the Lord with his life. He was grieved over the wickedness going on in his nation, among his own people, and because it appeared to him that God was not listening to his calls for help. And so God answered him by telling him that he was going to use a people even more wicked than those in Judah as instruments of judgment against his people who were living in rebellion against him.
But Habakkuk was now grieved over God’s response to him, that God would actually choose to use a people even more wicked than his own people as instruments of judgment against his own people. So he did question God’s justice in this matter, and he shared with God his concerns that the punishment God had planned for them might be too severe. And then he waited for God’s response, fully expecting that God would reprove him.
But God was gracious to him, and he had compassion on him, and instead of reproving him, he gave him an assignment:
“Write down the revelation
And make it plain on tablets
So that a herald may run with it.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
It speaks of the end
And will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
It will certainly come and will not delay.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3 NIV1978)
A few years back I, too, was grieving over the sinful condition of my nation and the church (at large) in my nation, and I was calling on God in prayer regarding all the evil that was going on in the church and in my nation when he gave me his calling on my life from this passage in Habakkuk 2 from the NIV1978 translation. And what I got from this is that God was calling me to write down on my computer what he was teaching me from his word each day and that I was to give these writings to the internet to “run with it.”
He had been preparing me for this beginning around this time of year 21 years ago, first through my grandmother’s journals, for she quoted this passage in Habakkuk on a regular basis, and then through other sources, and then through a prayer conference I attended as an official worker under the Christian & Missionary Alliance at that time. One of the speakers at that conference taught from this passage in Habakkuk 2. But God also spoke to me through all the speakers to let me know he had something for me to do.
And so I began writing what he was teaching me in 2004, and I began posting these writings on the internet, but not full time until June 2006. And some of this was him showing me things I had wrong, so I’d learn it right, and he was showing me a lot I had no clue about before, but not just from the Bible. For he had me doing all sorts of research on various subjects related to what the Bible is teaching with regard to these last days before the return of Christ, because these were things I needed to learn about.
And over the years he has helped me see the reality of what he was teaching me in the things which have been going on in my nation, in the world at large, and in the church here in America, which may be similar to what is happening in other nations, too. And that is when my eyes began to be opened to the reality of how so much of what is called “church” today are actually businesses incorporated (merged, united, combined with) under the state being marketed to the people of the world, to grow their numbers.
So much of what the Lord was teaching me I was totally blinded to before. But there are a lot of parallels to what was happening in Judah in Habakkuk’s day to what is happening here in America in our day and time, especially with regard to the church, the body of those who believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of their lives. And I do believe that America and the church in America, and perhaps in other nations, too, are presently under the judgment of God much in the same ways as in Habakkuk’s day.
So, I continue to write down what the Lord is teaching me from his word each day, posting these writings on the internet, so that a herald may “run with it” (the title of my blogs). And the writings are in the forms of devotions, Bible studies, poems, memes, and songs, but he has also given me video talk devotions, as well. All of this is of God, and not of my flesh, and I can only do what I do as led and empowered by God each day in what he would have for me to write and to post on the internet. All glory to God!!

Luke 19:37-40: Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: “‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”
From the corners of creation come the people of the Living God.
Every tongue and every nation gather now to praise the Lord.
From a world of tribulation, come and let your voice be raised.
Join us now in congregation. Let the Living God be praised.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Unto Him we offer praise.
Alleluia! Alleluia! This song of joy to him we raise.
Alleluia! Alleluia! In the heavens angels sing.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Give glory to the most high King!
If we keep our voices silent, all creation will rise and shout.
If we fail to praise you, Father, then will the very rocks cry out!
If we keep our voices silent, all creation will rise and shout.
If we fail to praise you, Father, then will the very rocks cry out!
Alleluia! Alleluia, Amen!
