Fear the Lord and Live!

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Remember the day you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, when he said to me, "Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere (fear) me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children."

Deuteronomy 4:9,10 NIV

_______________

Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.

2 Chronicles 19:8,9 KJV

_______________

The precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes;

The fear of the LORD is clean,
enduring for ever;

The ordinances of the LORD are true,
and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and
drippings of the honeycomb.

Psalm 19:8-10 RSV

_______________

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift:
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God
is the object of our faith; the only faith
that saves is faith in Him.

Light, space, zest - that's God!
So, with him on my side I'm fearless,
afraid of no one and nothing.

Point me down your highway, God;
direct me along a well-lighted street;
show my enemies whose side you're on.

Don't throw me to the dogs,
those liars who are out to get me,
filling the air with their threats.

I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness
in the exuberant earth.
Stay with God!
Take heart. Don't quit.
I'll say it again:
Stay with God.

Psalm 27:1, 11-14 The Message

And let's not forget the Gospel Luke 12:4 & 5
We have to get past our fear of mortality... sometimes as Christians we must help someone, who, in their turmoil may put you in the wraith of someone else who means to do harm. That point was made from my view point. From my own experiences, most of us will never have to make such extreme discissions but many still experience irrational fear of death and go through life paranoid of their own mortality. This fear restricts us from living a full life; its joys and sorrows, and making us strong enough to do "all" the Lord's work he wishes of us. We have to trust ... I mean really trust in our Father with all our heart mind and soul because if we do He is our protection, He will always be there for us, its the one part of truth faith that can totally trash a real Christian simply because God isn't physically beside us to protect us. BUT KNOW that as long as you live and breath in His Holy Word Jesus promised us His Father will alway protect us from all our enemies seen and unseen. For it is only in this understand that we can truly live full lives in His Holy word and joy.

Rest well in the arms of our Lord
