Fear Of Death - January 27, 2007

"O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory?"
-1 Corinthians 15:55

I am not typically a fearful person, but I must admit that after my brother's unexpected death last year I began to have obsessive thoughts concerning possibly again losing someone near and dear to me. Not only did Nick's sudden demise make me see just how fragile life is, but I quickly also learned that no matter how we may plan and prepare, there is no avoiding the fact we all will one day die.

I came to this conclusion after months of pondering various "what-if" scenarios concerning my husband, adult-aged children, siblings and parents. Meaning, I would ask myself, "What if _______ suddenly died? What would I do?" I also went ahead and had my end of life and 'upon my death' wishes put in writing.

Thankfully, my fear subsided when, after much ado, there was no more to be done. And so, I went back to simply living.

A lot of people fear death, and while I cannot honestly say that at age forty-five I am anxiously looking forward to it, I do accept it's inevitability. And because I believe what the Bible says about the gift of salvation and eternal life to those who love God and His Son, Jesus Christ, death, for me, is not final, but is merely a passageway to another plane of existence. ("That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." -Romans 10:9) As someone once said, "We are not flesh and blood beings who have a spiritual mission, but rather, we are spiritual beings on a flesh and blood mission."

That mission, my friend, is to glorify God by how we live our life, and to preach God's good news to everyone who has an ear to listen.

If you fear death, then won't you replace worry and doubt with the peace and comfort that can only come from a relationship with your Creator?

Fear of death is the greatest fear

There are many fears and the greatest of the fears is the fear of death. If there a greater love for God and for our neighbour this fear can be conquered. Thanks a lot Chad for reminding us this fear and to work on it.

Several years ago, well, maybe 15 even, time passes so quickly!

Our Pastors wife passed away from cancer.
They had moved to the Seattle area before she died.

A letter came one day, announcing Ruth's death.
I have never forgotten the way Pastor Jay said it....He said," Ruth has passed through death, into life eternal."

That has remained a beautiful way for me to look at death ,through the eyes of faith.
Another is from his word.....
Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his saints. Ps. 115:16

We all going to die ! That NOT the problem ! where we go is! That why we must be BORN -Again ! death or leaving our flesh body is Good ,if we are in the LORD! We gain ! But, God wants us here normally to help others !
This is NO longer our Home after salvation 1 our Home is New Jerusalem ! where there is no sin , no sorrow , no pain ! Here we do suffer every day of our lives ! We seem to get used to it ? I know death well 1 Been dead twice , once each way! There is a Real Sting of Death . It very Bad! fear like nothing on earth , we drop Slowly in darkness, Crying and begging for mercy i never went all the way to Hell 1 But know it must be Even worse !

to die in the LORD! Is Wonderful , i like dying every day !We are so happy to be free of this body! it a lot of Work daily ! We are there before our body can hit the ground , it so Quick ! our Spirit only wants to please Him and Be near Him ! It not happy here ! Because it out of place! It home is New Jerusalem , the city He went to get ready for Us !

Listen this is the Only chance we ever get to serve HIM and build up rewards ! we need to make the most of it ! We going to Want our rewads they are forever more ! Things here are only for a moment!
listen we need to ask Him daily to use us !

Psa_116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Php_1:23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Php_1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

We give Him our lives at salvation ! We belong to HIM !

Isa_57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

God sees Everything , He knows what going to happen before it takes place1 sometimes He takes us home , so we do not have to suffer ?

Listen we all got to know ? he loves us More than we love ourselves !He the best Father ever !! think how you love your children ? He loves us MORE !
