I was talking to this guy telling him that God doesnt favor any race but he begs to differ. I believe that he takes God's word out of context completely. This is what he said..

"That is a complete and utter lie.

Noah's ark was all about racism:

Genesis 6:9 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God

YHWH made everlasting covenants based on race:

Genesis 17:19 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Even Jesus (YHWH in Flesh) shows racism:

Matthew 15:22-26 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

Now you cannot explain this away as many try. It's like using the N* word then saying "I was just testing you". "

Racism????????

Whosoever will to the Lord may come. I'm afraid I don't see the racism that you/he is saying is there. It wouldn't have made any difference who the people were in the examples given. Your post gives no specifics as to what nationality you think was being favored. Just telling a story or giving a scripture isn't saying much. If you think somthing, say it but don't print out the story and think that we will see it as you do. It wouldn't have made any difference what nationality the woman at the well was. She could have been from anywhere. The point is/was that she cried out. There was no one else there. If Jesus had said to her, "Hey lady, you're from the wrong country and I don't do things for your kind," you would have cried racism too. This woman cried out so she was the one to recieve the help. It was the same with Noah. God needed someone to warn the people of pending doom and Noah was the only righteous man to be found. Can you tell me what his nationality was? In todays world, if he had been green skined, someone would holler racism. The same would have happened if he was purple. I wonder about people who go around trying to prove this or that against God when they should be trying to build a relationship with him instead. What will you say when you stand before God on judgment day? You will be your own lawyer and I can tell you, you won't be able to ple-bargain your way into heaven and God doesn't cut any deals. I can add that anyone can take a verse and add any meaning to it that he/she wants to. We must be careful not to put our own meanings into God's word, but let God put His meaning to it for us.

I'm sorry your acquaintance burdened you with his stupidity. For what it's worth.....

His first statement is so insane it defies description. Eight people went into the ark...Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives. In those 8 people God preserved the DNA of every race present on the earth today. You call that racism?

In Genesis 17:19 God is simply telling Abraham that the Savior would be a descendant of Isaac. No racism there...just a statement of fact.

As for the story in Matthew 15, there's little doubt the apostles were demonstrating their own prejudice, and Christ used the situation as an opportunity to teach his disciples -- and us -- an important lesson. Christ even went so far as to reaffirm their prejudice, using the term "dogs", which at that time was a well-known perjorative when referring to Gentiles. But Jesus was setting them up, because watch what happens in verses 27 and 28 (which your acquaintance conveniently ignores). Jesus uses this situation to emphatically demonstrate that race is meaningless, and faith is what matters most. He heals the humble, desperate woman's daughter, making a mockery of his disciples' intolerance.

I doubt any of this will be of much importance to your acquaintance, but hopefully you'll see the ignorance of his claims.

Interesting to know that that Jesus never claim to be jewish and everybody said that he is because of his mother? The only thing he claim that he is the Son of Man or Son of God and I look at it if he is for everybody and that Jesus is all people, amen.

I think the man trying to brai wash you really because there are alot of few cluse in the bible

Just to point out, that we are adopted into the kingdom of Christ. Spiritually we are the kingdom of Israel. Instead of interpreting those verse with carnality, your friend should have dug deeper for the spirituality of Christ. Thanks for sharing.

Isreal

God did have a special heart for Isreal.

He also had a special heart for the Gentiles, the Samaritans.... And Jesus had a heart for all. Paul talks about the Gentiles really being the first branches grafted on to the olive tree, but also makes a lot of room for converted Jews, calling them the natural branches broken off.

God wasn't racist. He made everything, how could He reject Himself. This is a rather large passage, but it explains the love of Christ and the love of our Father.

13I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry 14in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in." 20Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.

22Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

See how much God loves us and a message for us, see how much He still loves the Jewish people. (Lest we be arrogant)

Anyway, God loves ya. Take it easy, have patience and grow in the Lord.

God bless:Pixie:love: :rainbow:

Please ask this smart person this question:

If GOD favors races, why did He bother creating all races?

This person is obviously far from being in the Word. I cannot even imagine this person calls themselves a Christian. Do not waste time with such, but pray for them. Do not argue with fools.

Good point...in fact, Jesus was quite the outcast himself.

Re: Favor in Race?

I won't comment on all the Scriptures you debated with your friend, but the error that jumped out at me was his butchering of the story of the faith of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15. By chopping off the last two verses (vv 27-28), he totally warped the whole story.

I think you need to hold off arguing Scripture with this guy. As the Lord instructed the apostles, "If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town" (Mt 10:14)

For you to "shake the dust off your feet" would mean that you are rejecting his arguments and moving on, never to be drawn into futile debate with him again. This man needs and deserves Christian love but, as a pastor friend of mine would say, you need to love him from a distance.

Galatians 3:26-29

26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus,

27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is the exact reason II Tim 2:15 says 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth'. People will come with anything if they can, to get their point across. Stay before the Lord, & He will lead you into the relationships & people that agree with your purpose in Christ.

Your friend reminds me of the KKK who open each meeting with a Bible scripture. How absurd! God is not a racist, and anyone who professes to be a Christian with hatred in their heart, is fooling no one but themselves. You don't get apples from a peach tree, you get peaches.

There's nothing worse than someone who doesn't have a clue about the Bible, taking verses out of context (or picking and choosing selected quotes, and leaving out the parts that don't agree with whatever point they want to make) and trying to use those scriptures to support their claims that the Bible is in error, or racist, or evil, or whatever other claims they want to make against the Word of God.

By far, this type of person is the most typical Bible attacker I run into online.

I once debated a Muslim fellow who wanted to prove the Bible was full of contradictions and errors. He challenged me to prove the quaran was in error. Whereas I have read the quaran and the other muslim holy texts, which are so full of scientific errors and contradictions it just baffles me that anyone believes it is in any way divine, he admitted that he had never read a single word from the Bible. Yet, he felt qualified to debate it's inerrancy.

* BTW, my eldest half-brother converted to islam after returning home from Vietnam in the early 1970s. He became very prejudiced and militant, as are many Nation of Islam members. He tried to convert me when he saw that I had walked away from my Christian upbringing as a teen. I read the books he gave me out of curiosity and never once considered becoming a muslim. But having read them I saw where the quaran alone is so full of error that it baffles me anyone can feel it is in anyway divine. I am happy to say that after 30-years in the NoI, he renounced islam in 2002 and is once again a Christian.

I believe it's in Revelation 5, someone correct me if I've given the wrong cite, where the Holy Spirit states that God's elect will come from every tribe, nation and place on earth (I am paraphrasing here). So this person's claim has no basis in Scripture.

Rather than use my words, I would recommend reading these scriptures consecutively like if they were one paragraph. God bless.

Galatians 3:28, TLB. "We are no longer Jews or Greeks or slaves or free men or even merely men or women, but we are all the same—we are Christians; we are one in Christ Jesus."

Acts 17:26, KJV. "And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth."

James 2:8-9, NIV. "If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, 'Love your neighbor as yourself,' you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers."

Acts 10:34,35, NIV. "Then Peter began to speak: 'I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear Him and do what is right.'"

Many mentions

TheKingdom: I am like you on this one. Better to just show a few passages, because throughout the Bible, God's Love for us all, is mentioned.

# 1 Kings 8:53
For you singled them out from all the nations of the world to be your own inheritance, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you, O Sovereign LORD, brought our fathers out of Egypt."

Matthew 26
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Psalm 96
Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.

3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

1 Chronicles 16:24
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

And gracemygift, you are right. This is a beautiful passage in Rev 5. The Lamb Loves us all. Praise the Lord.

9And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God

So, to me it seems that the Lord our God Loves us deeply. Over and over in the Bible, He affirms His love for us. We ARE worthy, because our Lord Jesus Christ was the worthy One that bought for all of us, an inheritance to share.
God loves us. The Lord of Isreal Is Real. He is our Heavenly Maker and He is Beautiful.

Also note that Psalms 96 and Revelation 5, have the same beginning. (Sing a new song)? God's Spirit sure does write right.

Amen and Praise to God Most High:Pixie:sun:  :rainbow:

SonWorshipper,

Just wanted to tell you that is wonderful about your half-brother. God's elect will persevere to the end, regardless of backsliding.
