Although it is not Father's Day in the world right now, please feel free to read and take part in the thread, bringing to our hearts, our Father's Love, because Father's Day really is every day of the year.

Isn't it nice when Father's Day comes round, the children bring us lovely presents, like socks, handkerchiefs or if we are really good maybe some chocolates, or even breakfast in bed. What a wonderful picture this gives us, between us and our Heavenly Father, not that He would want socks or handkerchiefs, and He never sleeps so wouldn't want breakfast in bed, but He does want our unconditional love and not once a year...

Father's Day is actually every day of the year and 'never' just one day of the year.

This forum is Blessed with so many, God loving, Jesus loving, scripture loving, born again, brothers and sisters in Christ, it is also Blessed with a large number of visitors, from numerous denominations, who read the posts, hopefully we can share together our Father's incredible Love, through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, according to God's Word, before finally concluding with scripture confirming there can only ever be one Father's Day.

May God be Glorified as we share together our Father's Amazing Love for us all, please add your posts with whatever scripture based message that comes to your heart on this subject and may all who read them be truly blessed.
In Jesus Name. Amen.

God's amazing Love...

Romans 5:8-10 (KJV)
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Romans 8:37-39 (KJV)
37 in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39 (NIV2011)

37 in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Please feel free to add more scripture verses of Our Father's Amazing Love.

God is LOVE... Amen

God's incredible Love

Romans 5:8-10 (KJV)
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

God sent Jesus to die for us, not because we were good enough, but because He loved us so much. Whenever we feel uncertain about God's love for us, we should remember that He loved us even before we turned to him. If God loved us when we were lost souls, he can surely strengthen us now that we love him in return. Because our knowledge of God's love is based on his demonstration, all doubts, "How do you know God loves you?", can be directly answered: "I know God loves me because Jesus died for me."

God's Amazing Love

John 3:16-18 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Verse 16 we all know, often called the Gospel in miniature. The verse sheds light on the following aspects of God's amazing love for mankind:
1. its character --- so loved
2. its Author --- God
3. its object --- the world
4. its Gift --- his Son, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten
5. its purpose --- that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life

But, we must be Born Again these verses follow on from John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Our Father's Amazing Love.

Jesus said when you pray say...

Matthew 6:9 (KJV)

After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, (Jesus always pointed us to the Father, His Father, our Father)
Hallowed be thy name. (Holy be thy name. Holy, Holy, Holy be thy name.)

There are many more examples where Jesus emphasises the importance of us coming to the 'Father', where Jesus emphasises the importance of the 'Father' figure to us all.

Note also, Jesus gave many warnings that we should not call each other by names that appear to make a person greater than they are, more so He said, he that humbles himself shall be exalted, not the person called Master.

Matthew 23:8-12 (KJV)
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 23:8-12 (NIV2011)
8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.
9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.
10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah.
11 The greatest among you will be your servant.
12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

"Do not call anyone on earth 'father'" does not mean that we cannot use the word for a parent. Jesus was speaking in the context of the rabbi/disciple relationship.
Disciples would call their rabbi "father". This is what Jesus was saying is not acceptable. No teacher or instructor of the Word should ever be called 'father'

Sadly the Catholic church, some Protestant churches and some others, call there teachers/clergy members 'father' NOTE: Jesus said this was unacceptable.

If you are part of a church and the pastor/minister/teacher is called, or expects to be called 'father' why not show them Matthew 23:9 (KJV) and see what they say.
(Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves - it is good to listen to the Word, but we owe it to ourselves to 'Read the Word' and make sure we are being taught correctly)
Jesus himself said... call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Jesus also tells us... I and the Father are one.

No one comes to the Father except through the Son.

Calling our parents father on father's day, is therefore acceptable in the context of Jesus teaching in Matthew 23, BUT, as Jesus states, we must not call teachers/instructors of the Word father.

The true Father's Day has to be, should be, must be, every day of the year.
Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. (and thy Name alone)

Amen
