Faith
Speaking of faith, we’ve been talking about the armor of God, which includes the Shield of Faith, along with the Gospel Boots and the Helmet of Salvation. We will visit about the other components sometime down the road. But for today, I'd like to hone in on these three. Have you ever noticed how it's so easy to be selfish, yet so hard to be Christ like? Doesn't this prove the existence of good and evil, of both God and satan, and even of the whole supernatural realm? There is always resistance when you attempt to do what is right. Well, if we are going to be successful as Christians and learn to live life well on this fallen planet, then we'd better clothe ourselves with the Armor of God. Faith is believing God's Word more than your eyes.
The Gospel is the Good News of God's Love for us, demonstrated by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And Salvation is both the redemption of our souls from death, and the promise of our future in Heaven with God. Oh how we need these truths ever before our eyes! Reminding ourselves of these things, keeps us from being swept away by the tide of doubt and disbelief and becoming shipwrecked on the reefs of sin and despair. Now is the time to stand up and live for something beyond ourselves. God is earnestly seeking for those whose hearts are completely devoted to Him. God be with you all...
