I went back to sleep, had a dream and the dream I was having was slowly disappearing as I was about to wake back up again that night.
Hi Mikayla
This may have been a key to your Dream Interpretation, So if you remember what that dream was about it could Help you understand the following of your statement about the light.
I couldn't open my eyes and it seemed almost purple through my eyelids!
The color
Purple (representing mercy and transformation) its is a Royal or Divine color associated with
Zadkiel, the angel of mercy. But I would have to agree with Brighthouse, that it could be a answer to your prayer? Count your dream as a Gift from God!! But with all thing in Life here on Earth, we have to be watchful, that we make the right choice's. Dreams and Visions can be of two purposes, a warning or Blessing. But the actions we and others choose will result in the out come, not all blessing in a Dream or Vision will end up coming True, likewise not all warning well come true. Walking in righteousness or falling into sin and temptation can change the outcome. always remember this Verse (
Luke 17:6) & (Matthew 17:20) He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
God uses dreams to speak to us sometimes. Dreams aren't bad. Satan uses dreams to influence us Sometimes. Test all things and hold fast to what is true/good.
Dreams and visions are mentioned in the Bible, and God sometimes used the dream state to communicate with His prophets and others. God spoke to Abimelech in
Genesis 20, warning him not to touch Abraham’s wife, Sarah. Other dreams include Jacob’s ladder (
Genesis 28), Joseph’s dream that his brothers would serve him that led to his captivity in Egypt (
Genesis 37), as well as his interpretation of Pharaoh's dreams (
Genesis 40-41) that led to his being made the second most powerful man in Egypt. The Lord or His angel appeared to others in the Bible, including Solomon (
1 Kings 3), Nebuchadnezzar (
Daniel 2), Joseph (
Matthew 2), and Pilate’s wife (
Matthew 27). None of these dreams, however, with the possible exception of Pilate’s wife’s dream, can really be called a nightmare. So it would appear that God does not usually speak to people through nightmares.
Some people think Satan or demons are infiltrating their minds during nightmares, but there is no passage in the Bible to directly substantiate this. With the possible exception of a dream Eliphaz claimed to have, there are no biblical incidents of demonic forces communicating with people during dreams or nightmares. Most likely, nightmares are nothing more than fears we need to surrender and hand over to God. But, as in all things, prayer is our most potent weapon against any kind of emotional or spiritual distress. Praying for fifteen or twenty minutes prior to sleep is the most effective way to calm the mind and heart and prepare for restful sleep. As in all things, God grants wisdom to those who seek it from Him (
James 1:5), and He has also promised His peace to all who seek it. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (
Philippians 4:6–7).
The Bible is filled with dreams full of meaning. If these dreams were important in Bible times, then we can suspect that they are important in our lives as well.
(nightmares, Nebuchadnezzar's dream of coming world empires--Daniel 2). (warnings, Gabriel to Joseph warning about fleeing to Egypt--Matthew 2). (advice, Joseph interpreting Pharaoh's dream about seven good years of abundant harvests to be followed by seven lean years of harvest--Genesis 41). (daydreams, Joseph interacting with his brothers--Genesis 37:19). (prophetical, Nebuchadnezzar's dream of his coming insanity--(Daniel 4). (guidance, Paul's vision about going to Macedonia--(Acts 16:6-10). (messages, Gabriel explaining to Joseph about why Mary was pregnant--(Matthew 2:20-25).
In the last days God's people will have many dreams to share about the Kingdom of God (Joel 2:28-29).
Regarding Dreams experienced in light of Biblical truth? I do not believe that Satan can enter, influence or control our subconscious minds. His attacks are limited to the times when we are awake and can defend ourselves. It is possible for Satan to grab a “foot hold” in our lives. Paul tells us that this may occur if we continue to sin again and again in the same area. Control of that particular area is ups for grabs and if Satan gains control we must repent of our sin and pray for Satan to depart. When the sin is forgiven Satan no longer has a foothold (James 4:7). I don’t believe that our subconscious longings can be sins. After all, by definition we cannot know what is occurring in our sub-conscious. I don’t believe that we can sin during our dreams. As Christians, we can open up our lives to Satanic attacks. “Any area of our lives not in full surrender to the Holy Spirit is open to attack by a demonic spirit.” God has given to us every “tool” we need to over come satanic attacks. To learn more on the Tools needed to over come the satanic attacks, read The Bible and be open to the Guidance of the Holy Spirit.
May your Life be a living testimony of Christ Jesus and God Bless.
