When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Psalm 94:19 NLT
Remember the story of “Doubting Thomas”? He was one of Jesus’ twelve disciples—the men who traveled with Him for three years, learning from Him and witnessing His amazing miracles…and hearing Him talk about how He would die but would be raised from the dead.
After Jesus was raised from the dead, the other disciples told Thomas they had seen Him. But Thomas didn’t believe them. He flatly told them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe” (John 20:25).
That is some serious doubt, isn’t it? But because Thomas was honest about his doubt, Jesus handled it and brought him back to a place of unshakable faith.
When doubt comes knocking at your heart and mind, remember that God is more than capable of handling it when you talk to Him about your struggles. Talk to Him about your doubts—and then let Him comfort you and strengthen your faith.
He did it for Thomas, and He’ll do it for you too.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for comforting me and assuring me when I go through seasons of doubt. Remind me to always bring my doubts to You so that You can strengthen me and give me unshakable faith.
