Don't Kill

Member
Where it says in the bible to stone people, of course Jesus says not to condemn lest ye be condemned and he stops a stoning John 7:53. However God also says thou shalt not kill and he also mentions throughout the latter Old Testement where he dislikes men having blood on their hands. I was wondering if God had planned this to happen that although he has Moses to say to stone people for certain things that he says in the 10 commandments, "Thou shalt not kill." So it's like a test to see which method people will follow. Of course through the Son all these sins can be forgiven and God can just let it go too.

Hate to burst your bubble Laeomis, but the meaning of that word "kill" in the actual Hebrew OT manuscripts means 'murder'. The KJV translators properly translated it in Matthew 19 to "thou shalt do no murder" when Jesus quoted that from the Old Testament.

Murder means pre-meditated, thought out beforehand, i.e., homicide. It is not the same thing as killing in battle with war.
