Does God Praise us?

There are many things we can learn by being in a “family” unit. Does a father ever praise his own son, and does a son ever praise his own father? These things are not restricted to just physical human beings because we get a lot of our similarities from God who created us in his image, and after his likeness.

The Bible tells us that we have been “predestined” (To determined before hand) that we should live for “his praise”!

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he HATH CHOSEN US IN HIM BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having PREDESTINATED US unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 TO THE PRAISE OF THE GLORY OF HIS GRACE, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Any family where a father never praises his sons, or daughters when they do right, nor does the daughter, son ever praise their father when he does right will be a “dysfunctional” family. The circular pattern of praising each other for not just doing right, but also for who they are is an eternal concept that is everlasting!

It's one thing to praise God, and it is another for God to praise us. Jesus never praised himself as that was his Fathers job. What person would praise them-self? The family relationship with in the Godhead is where the father praises his son, and the son praises his father, and all of this is being done through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pro 27:2 LET ANOTHER MAN PRAISE THEE, AND NOT THINE OWN MOUTH; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

The religious leaders of Jesus's day were more interested in the “praise” that came from man then the praise that comes from God!

John 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
John 12:43 For THEY LOVED THE PRAISE OF MEN MORE THAN THE PRAISE OF GOD.

The intent and purpose of “why” we say, and do certain things determine where praise comes from. If our purpose is to lift ourselves up by making sure people see, and know what we have done, or are doing, then man will gladly heap praise upon us!
There is no doubt God sometimes uses people to communicate his praises to others, and those who receive it are never puffed up, but humbled because of it!

Gal 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? IF I WERE STILL TRYING TO PLEASE MAN, I WOULD NOT BE A SERVANT OF CHRIST.

We live for the “praise” that comes from God!! What child never seeks the praise of his parent, or what parent never praises his own child?

yes, to hear, "Well done!" from the Lord, is something surely we all want!
