does anybody here like Japanese cuisine.....

Member
I'm still learning it myself, but I have some recipes for Japanese cuisine if anybody is interested.

Just let me know, and I'll post them. When I say Japanese cuisine I mean traditional Japanese cuisine, washoku (traditional Japanese food/recipes) and yoshoku (which are Japanese dishes with western influence; or western dishes, European/American that have become "japonized", which is just changing them to suit the Japanese palate) NOT fusion cuisine.

Basic Japanese dishes are classified into these categories....

Nimono (simmered dishes)

Nabemono (one pot dishes; essentially a 'meal-in-a-bowl' the equivalent of casseroles)

Mushimono (steamed dishes)

tsukemono (pickled dishes; basically the Japanese version of salad; tsukemono can be mixed pickled vegetables, or just individual veggies pickled)

suimono (soups)

okashi (sweets and/or snacks; wagashi are traditional Japanese desserts/sweets; yogashi are western desserts with Japanese influence or vise versa)

yakimono (grilled and/or pan-fried dishes)
agemono (deep fried dishes)
