Do we fear death?

Do we fear death?

We are given Scriptures about this but can we and do we actually acknowledge them and live and .... die by them?

Please share any Scripture that comes to mind,

Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared;
Hebrews 5:7

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Acts 7:59

For You are my rock and my fortress;
lead me and guide me for the sake of Your name.

You free me from the net laid out for me,
for You are my refuge.

Into Your hands I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD, God of truth.

Psalm 31:3-5

Bless you ....><>

Death is our physical bodies being transfered to a new glorified body for born again believers.

It should not be feared. Maybe the method Of dying won't be pleasant but that needs to be left in God's hands.

i believe the "Death" that JESUS was about to experience was the DEATH that was awaiting for us. And HE experience that DEATH in which we deserved in a collective form. Way beyond our imagination. that we can never know. :pensive: He died our. death. And a death we will never experience, we will only go to sleep, if we close our eyes before HE returns, Then when he comes, HE will awaken us from that sleep [in Paradise.]

John 11: 26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. 26 AND everyone who lives and believes in Me WILL NEVER DIE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?”

John 8:51
Truly, truly, I tell you, if anyone keeps My word, HE WILL NEVER SEE DEATH."

PS.
I am not trying to decrease your "TRUST" in HIS WORD, But INCREASE your FAITH in THE GOD in Whom you Believe!:pensive:

yes, our life is in His hands.... in other words, also, "but that needs to be left in God's hands" , 'that' is part of our pilgrimage, so to speak, all which, pertaining to us, is in His hands.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

“For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:35-39

Hello everyone. I’m new here and I have a specific question about this topic.
In scripture as some of you mentioned in the posts above, we will have a glorified body when Jesus returns. My question is : Does anyone know HOW this happens? Does the Bible mentions any details basically?

For example: Some people might have been cremated. How will they be resurrected?
Another example; People who are buried. How will they be raised? Will the ground open up?

Thank you.

Thank you for the question

Good question, too.

Scratching my head a bit now.

I have always figured that as the LORD created everything His way, He will also have a way to do those things. By His Word.
Are you familiar with the account of the dry bones coming alive? Read Ezekiel 37

Here are the first verses

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

And He said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again He said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Hebrews 2:14-18

14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

1 Corinthians 15:54-56

54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55“Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” 56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.…

It is awesome as a Christian, even though we die, all there is, is abundant life.

John 10:10

The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Psalm 31:3-5
Two kinds of fear .A fear of being judged and found guilty the fear being separated from the love of God (the merciless fear of judgment) .The father of lies accuses the believer day and night. And a fear that makes up a family binding them as one. .

He informs us he will forgive all or iniquities and therefore we fear him aright .

David says if God would take into account even one violation of the letter of his law .Who could stand in the holy place of mercy and receive the grace of God.

Psalm 130 :1-8 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

If one is a Christian and still has a fear of death, then he/she needs to renew his/her mind - having fear of death (or just about anything as a Christian) demonstrates that such a person is not walking hand-in-hand with God, does not engage Him in personal and intimate time in prayer, and has not yet come to know Him...and all of this emanates directly out of failing to renew their minds with God's thoughts in Scripture. This is one reason why we are admonished in Scripture from the very beginning (Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1) to renew our minds...because if all we get is input from the world on a 24 hour basis, then we will be held by the world's attitudes and be ineffective in the Kingdom.

Blessings
