Do animals have more value than humans in our modern society ?

Thousands of years ago our ancestors relationship to animals have been survival ( food, clothing, companionship etc.) Those living in cold areas wore animal skin and gatherers hunted animals for food.
With the introduction of eastern philosophies and new age beliefs, I've notice an adoption of animals being sacred.
Today animals are placed on the same level as humans.
You'll find those who support abortion, then credit their vegetarian diet to animal welfare.
I'm hesitate in joining most causes for the fact of not knowing its root, it may sound good, appear good but there's no knowing the motivate.

It's a hard question, and I hope everyone answer honestly without fear of offending anyone.

Animals speak the language of the angels but we receive a grace that even angels can't boast of ... In my opinion all created of God are equally blessed...Rev

Matt 6:26; "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

Gen 1:26; Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Gen 1:27; God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Gen 1:28; God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."
Gen 1:29; Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;
Gen 1:30; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.

A man can go to prison for killing the wrong kind of bird yet the taxpayer is strong armed into paying for the butchering of millions of babies every year- this ought to speak for itself.

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Heh Rev, even the tress shall sing out to the praise of His glory:

1Ch 16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.

I truly believe that all His creation communicates with Him on some level:

Psa 148:7 Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
Psa 148:8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
Psa 148:9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
Psa 148:10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
Psa 148:11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
Psa 148:12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
Psa 148:13 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven

Yes this is sadly so true, a sign of the times .

Its a confused world we live in

Let Your kingdom come Lord Jesus

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

I only had one vision in my life time ! But had it three times in a row! In it Tampa , Florida got nuked !

then later i saw a guy who had been dead on T.V, the guy said while dead , God spoke too Him and said there were people who were going to do something that was the worse thing to ever happen in this nation ! He said ? God said He been holding it back ! But if we did not stop killing these babies ? He was going to let them do it !

I thought maybe it was the nuke God had shown me would take place ? I have a Son living in Tampa , so i thought like GOd warned abraham , maybe that why He allowed me to see this vision so i would warn my Son ?

anyway , I know God hates us killing the innocent and that babies are a gift ! God LOVEs the little children !

Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

I eat about anything ?
Just hate it they are messing up all our foods and drinks !

still if we pray over it in faith , we will be OK !
If not we go home a little faster ! Not My Will But HIS praise the LORD!

1Ti_4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

yes, in today's society, to a large extent
people will flock to a stranded whale and even the news teams will cover the story, viewers will get traumatized to the degree that they do
and so it goes on

animals have always had a part in cultural stories and teachings
most id not all from ancient until now have animals as a central and important part of their beliefs
remember the golden calf back in Aaron's days and how quickly it was made and erected and even worshiped by the people so recently delivered after the first passover. Exodus 32:4

some might suggest that animals/beasts are vital in heaven and are placed at the throne and around it as can be read in Revelation 4:6-8

You'll find those who support abortion, then credit their vegetarian diet to animal welfare.
this is of course such an obvious contradiction but today society has impregnated itself with the ideology that the rights of people is more value than the life's of people
also the convenient stance that a baby is not a baby until it is born makes a colder cull easier to bear

add to this the ever growing rumor that the earth can not continue to support humans at the rate they are multiplying
and to that the fact that more and more native habitat is being swallowed up so rapidly that endangered species has become an almost inevitable conclusion
and society can reason away the problem concerning abortion and find it easier to nip them in the bud before they only add to the burdens society faces

as far as joining causes goes it can be profitable to an extent for the sake of society maintaining a level of decency towards God's creation and in order that this world isn't more messes up for the next generation and although these things may be inevitable it is defeatism to do nothing at all.

Children matter and you and I know that too well and abortion is a simple case of NO and yet being responsible caretakers and leaving a noble heritage and preserving as much of the wonder of nature as it is labelled is a;lo vital and of great importance

it would be easy to say don't worry about it and who cares
but perhaps if we remember that the Lord saw it was good when He had made it all
we might have a little more respect and take a more responsible attitude towards what He made
all creation is amazing beyond description and deserves every bit of our awe and consideration

the difference has to be found in the fact that man was made in God's image
if it came down to the choice between a sure and only chance possibility saving of anothers soul from eternal perishing and saying goodbye to the last remaining specimen of a species the soul comes first BUT having said that it is unlikely that such a scenario would eventuate

it is easy to get so one-eyed and close minded about nearly everything and the stupidity you mentioned here is only one of the daft and blind outcomes

there are alternatives to joining groups, which have their pitfalls and do tend to be pro everything besides Jesus as far as 'spiritual' relations go (which mind you is no wonder as most professing Christians religiously don't get their hands dirty with animal protection movements so there is little influence from Christianity)

likewise, rejecting vegetarianism or veganism is not the answer
there is nothing wrong with non-animal diet - Daniel and his friends did OK on it and if we stop and think for a minute, The LORD God provided plenty enough in His original creation for man to survive in a garden with Him

both animal welfare and vegetarianism is almost taboo in church circles today because Christians have become scared of the religious zealots and judgment from those who consider themselves more mature and righteous than others and generally speaking such activities or diets are frowned upon as being 'unbiblical'

due to erroneous teachings and legalism and pride etc it is not as crystal clear as it could be, sister

there is nothing wrong with being kind to man and kind towards beast at the same time
God made all
man have choices
animals don't
man harbors grudges and seeks revenge and all manner of evil
animals don't

same for the trees and the seas
why turn a blind eye to what is going on

you can still love others and share the gospel while caring about the Lord's creation
Jesus is Lord over all
grace and peace doesn't call for cruelty or arrogance

The question is not, " is it wrong to care for animals and humans the same, " or if its wrong to join organizations to protect nature or animals. The point/question is have animals elevated on the same level as humans ?

Eddy fire....both animal welfare and vegetarianism is almost taboo in church circles today because Christians have become scared of the religious zealots and judgment from those who consider themselves more mature and righteous than others and generally speaking such activities or diets are frowned upon as being 'unbiblical'
That's not entirely true, there is more anti- meat conversations than pro meat. Some have used the bible to argue a meatless diet. More and more Christians I know have adopted these new diets, singing the same mantra of a Buddhist/ Hindu. People who eat meat are frown upon, looked down as barbaric, seen as not evolved ( there's a belief that our current evolution state does not require a meat diet, we no longer have to eat like our ancestors despite our teeth.) Going green is not taboo, well not in my state or neighbors. Going green is more than recycling, it involves technology, food production etc.

Eating a vegetarian diet or vegan have always been associated with spirituality and enlightenment. Medical reasons may cause some to give up the meat. God gave man free will to choose, therefore the subject matters is not about people feeling guilty to save the whales or trees. It's about priority, placing biblical view before world view and finding a balance.
Us asking what was the original plan on how man and animal relate, before the introduction of eastern religion, worship of the divine nature, Gaia worship, Earth charter etc.

My environment is very diverse culturally, religiously etc., I get first hand up close look to how we influence each other without jumping on a plane. Whether we want to admit or not, does not change the truth. Our beliefs, opinions on how to relate to nature is influenced by the world, through media, politics, music, education etc. more so than the bible.

The National Religious Partnership for the Environment is an association of independent faith groups across a broad spectrum: the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Council of Churches U.S.A., the Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life, and the Evangelical Environmental Network

Hi rizen1
i am sorry that i did not understand your question

i looked at that link and i think i might now understand what you are asking and saying

in answer to this question:
The point/question is have animals elevated on the same level as humans ?

is no
animals can not elevate themselves
so it must be something people have tried to do

as far as joining unions of religious groups goes it is best not to as whatever you join yourself to that you become one with and the link you provided was a union of groups that do not all worship and praise the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father and others do not adhere to Scripture and Truth

Because society in general fail to acknowledge the truth of creation and now accept the generally believed lie of evolution, what has happened is that because it is now believed we are descended from apes, humans are actually degraded to the level of the beast. I voted yes, because animals do engender more respect and honour in our modern society. This ought not be so of course, but that is he way it is. Ask yourself. If someone in your street gets shot, how many letters and protests are there as a result? If a dog gets shot what happens?????
