Dirty Jokes

Eph 5:3; But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints;
Eph 5:4; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
Eph 5:5; For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Eph 5:6; Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

There are things in my past I am not very proud of. One of the things I used to take "pride" in, was how dirty or filthy I could talk.
The nastier a joke was, the better. Some of this continued on for a while, even after I would have said I was a Christian.

Jas 1:21; Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

I still know some people who say they are Christians who do these things, but do these people have an inheritance in the kingdom of God?

man I can relate, dirty jokes never used to bother me, now I cant stand to be around them at all.. So let me ask you a question brother what do you do when a guy start telling a dirty joke around you or just starts using foul language all together ??

I get the same feeling when someone tells dirty jokes around me as I do when someone is cursing around me, I just dont like it. Most of the time I keep quite and or just walk away. But if I know the person I do try to say something to them a lot of the times. Funny thing is most people that know me, have seen the change in me and are extremely respectful with there language around me, almost like they are scared to curse it up or talk dirty around me, I do like that

I have caught myself using the shi word not to long ago, and boy was I convicted when that happened.
