Great question! We all struggle in our
"believing", faith, and trust in God. He knows you and loves you just the way you are and is there for you to lay this prayer at His feet, exactly the way you shared with us.
Years ago my wife spoke with God in the middle of the night and asked Him to take me back. Next month I was at a men's retreat (I don't even know how I got there) but while my buddy was teaching me how to row a canoe, I was afraid we were going to tip over and gave my life to Jesus Christ and when we made it back to dry land, I then realized that I became a Christian. Many years later I still don't know how to row a canoe but learned to soar like an eagle, eh?
Years ago, behind closed doors, in secret, I asked God what is the purpose of this Jesus Christ and He laid it on my heart that Jesus carries me while I learn to
believe, have faith, and trust in God. Many years later Jesus still carries me while I continue to
believe, have faith, and trust in God. It is a life long process,
Nia Jane. But because of God you and all of us will experience a continued transformation with our Father.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
