So did you ever wonder why God had to tell us what to choose?
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

How do we choose life and speak death?

I am curious... where does the phrase "speak death" come from?

How do you speak life or speak death?
Do you mean sharing the Gospel of Christ? or something else...

We should not be surprised to be told to choose life.

Our default location, everyone's default location is Hell!!!

No one comes to the Father except through the Son. If we miss the narrow road, we remain on the wide one that leads to destruction and eternal death.

If we do not come to the Father, through Jesus His Son, we will go to Hell.

1 Thes 4:13 Paul says 'Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men who have no hope.'

Rev 21:27 Nothing impure will ever enter...only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life

Sin stops us going to heaven Romans 3:23, sin separates us from God Isaiah 59:2

Heaven is not our default destination. No one goes there automatically therefore we must 'Choose Life'

Speak death??? Not sure where that comes from Bendito?

So you're meaning this as in a Prov 18:21; context.
Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Good answer. Amazing, as it says those who love it, either life, or death will eat its fruit.

Pro 8:36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death."

1Pe 3:10 For "Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit;

Simply put, B-A-C, if you speak what God says about a situation you speak life. Contrarily, if you speak what you see, pain, sickness whatever, you speak death.

Except God was speaking to His people. By adoption us? Even now....as saved children of the Most High.we can choose death by our words. or choose life.

Proverbs 18:21 (CJB)
21 The tongue has power over life and death;
those who indulge it must eat its fruit.

There are many scriptures verses that tell us to be careful what we do and say as born again believers...

My favourite has to be John 15, as it includes the warnings of being pruned out, cast out, becoming withered and being destroyed, but it also encourages us, in a most wonderful way, to remain in Christ, Abide in Christ, and in doing so, herein is the Father Glorified.

A small selection
Psalm 34:13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Psalm 52:4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

Psalm 1120:2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
Job 12:11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

The Word has 'a lot' to say about the tongue... it can be used against God, it can cut us off from God, it can be used to accept God and to Glorify God in so many ways. The tongue can be used to preach, to repent, it can even be as a double edged sword.

But we must always be careful as born again believers to use it to bring Glory to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Since the Lord God knows the end from the beginning, and knows what is going to happen before it happens, It would very wise to do what he says to do, and don't do what he says don't do. :)

Absolutely....

Ephesians 5:1-2 (CJB)
5 So imitate God, as his dear children; 2 and live a life of love, just as also the Messiah loved us, indeed, on our behalf gave himself up as an offering, as a slaughtered sacrifice to God with a pleasing fragrance.
