DID THE BODY OF CHRIST START AT PENTECOST?

More than a few think Pentecost was the start of the church. This will examine this claim.

[Acts 2:42 KJV] "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." ********** The Gentiles that believed continued in the teachings of Peter and the apostles. Peter was preaching the millennial kingdom on earth. This couldn't be the start of the body of Christ, because the body will inherit heaven, not the earth.

[Acts 2:44 KJV] "And all that believed were together, and had all things common;"
[Acts 2:45 KJV] "And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need." ********** The Gentile believers followed the commandment to sell their possessions in accordance to Christ's command to enter the millennial kingdom ********* [Luke 12:33 KJV] "Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth." ********* This wasn't a command to the body of Christ. On the contrary, the body was commanded to lay up for their children ************* [2 Corinthians 12:14 KJV] "Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children." ************* the body of Christ didn't sell all their possessions and was not a practice of the body.

[Acts 2:46 KJV] "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,"
[Acts 2:47 KJV] "Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." *********** The Gentile believers continued daily in the temple. Peter and the disciples worshipped daily in the temple ************ [Luke 24:53 KJV] "And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen." ********* the body of Christ met in their houses not in the temple.

The church the Lord added to was not the new church, the body of Christ, it was the Jerusalem church whose leaders were Peter and the apostles.
