Did Jesus really say???

I've never known a man expecting and pining for the rapture that didnt pray the opposite.

Jesus was not talking about the rapture there... You may want to read that in other versions "

Jesus was about to leave the Earth and go to be with the Father...He was praying that the Father would not take them too but to strengthen them and protect them....He was not talking about the rapture.

Of course He wasnt He never did.
Had a lot to say about resurrection though, but since that doesnt fit it often gets left out .
But this is John 17,,,,the 'High Priestly' prayer, tell me does it apply to the whole church over time or only those of the first century ?

'Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;'

Its talking of how this is not our world any longer...but God won't take us out until its time. We have a job to do
