devil?

John 6:70 says “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?” (Copied and pasted from a post I saw)


Which one of the twelve is he talked about when he refers to one of them as the devil? Am I reading it wrong?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

If you read the verse before this it would bring light.

John 6:64

64Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.

when we read the folllowing verse we see

John 6:71
71(He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)


When studing a scripture it's always best to read the verse before and after.

Yes ,It was judas,But here is the deal?
demons put thoughts in all our minds.We are to reject them.
But,The trouble with judas , was ?GOD knew he would live those evil thoughts.
where Peter also ,the bible shows got evil thoughts but said ,what the though was ,with good intenions. judas intenions were evil .
That is the different.We might do something ,which we did not mean to do wrong ,where another met to do wrong!

Mat 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
Mat 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Poor Peter did not mean wrong!
You see! He said nothing to peter or else ,He expllained it later to him.Which i think, HE did!

devil can and do,take over peoples lifes.
Mar 7:26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

judsa may well have had a demon living in him.
they are spirits like we are!.




26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
Mat 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

This verse would point to demon possession (?)

YES , he was . But , no one was BORN OF GOD, Until the LORD died , went to our city and sent back the HOLY GHOST!]

The Point being? The elect have the HOLY GHOST now! And cannot be possessed ! Of course they can be attacked in there minds and have a very hard time in life, If they allow it?

And many do listen to these devils and do evil things that cause them much hardship in life!

You know our minds are kinda like computers? what ever we put in them is there!
So we watch evil things or talk evil junk or listen to evil music , then these things in our our minds and will no doubt cause us troubles!

We are what we eat in our bodies and also, Much more important ? In our MINDS !

I personally, Would warn everyone, Be very careful what you allow to enter your minds!

I completely agree with you with what you said about our minds. You said exactly what I have thought for a long time. Believe it or not I have friends who don't believe that at all. I get soo frustrated
