Depression or Pride: Suicide

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

First I would like to say that there are indeed medical conditions that lead to depression and anyone suffering with symptoms should be tested for imbalances in their system.
Other causes:

Lies, deceptions, things that cause your soul to spiral down into an ever darker place- these are tools of the enemy. Being a predator he likes to separate a wounded sheep from the flock and then the trouble really begins.

The Word of God says to think on things of good report- the enemy says look at your troubles.
The Word of God says the Lord Himself will fight your battles- the enemy says you are hopeless and past any help.
The Word of God says you are accepted in the beloved- the enemy says no one loves you or cares about you.
The Word of God says you are more than a conqueror- the enemy says you can never win.
The Word of God say we are children of the light- the enemy says you will never escape the darkness that surrounds you.
The Word of God says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you- the enemy says you are helpless.

This list could obviously go on for some time but hopefully a pattern is emerging.

The Word of God is always true.
Much of our current state can be determined by what we are believing as the truth.

A stronghold in the life of a believer is literally a house built of thoughts that does not agree with the Word of the Living God. Like beams in a wall the false ideas and perceptions reinforce one another until a formidable barrier is erected. Satan is indeed the father of all lies. Again the Word of God gives us the answer:

2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We do not war in the strength of our own beings but believing God we are over comers as the very life of the Living God works in us to lead us victoriously through our trials.

The Word of God is the Word of life and will refresh and bring life to the wounded soul:

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
