This poem was written when I woke up with the Latin phrase running through my head. It comes from St. Jerome's Vulgate translation. It means whan I fall I shall rise. The Miserere is an old Latin Hymn of sorrow and repentence. Naturally, it is yet one more poem from my unpublished novels.

DELAPSIS REURGUM

In this world of pain and woe
Only one thing keeps me on the go
There is a promise that keeps me looking to the skies
Delapsis Resurgum, when I fall I shall rise.
Though at times I sing the Miserere
Just you wait for Judgment Day.
I will rise up to meet my Lord
As He brings me my eternal unearned reward.
All pain forgotten, all sorrows released
Not just for me, but every creature and beast
Transformed animals, transformed plants
Even stars and planets join in the chants
Never more to wail the blues
Just eternally growing good news

I really enjoyed your poem. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you. I enjoy writing them. That's why I have written some two dozen books of theology, Christian fantasy novels, Christian plays and puppet shows, and believe it or not, Pokemon Poetry. I do it just for fun, and my own enjoyment. Though I do push the occasional self printed copy of the theology ones on my long suffering friends and relations.
