Death has lost it's sting
Death has lost it's sting,
Thanks to the One,
Who proclaimed that He is the Living One,
That He was dead and now alive,
Alive forever and evermore.
Reigning as King Of Kings,
Now holding the keys,
Of Death and of Hades.
Death has lost it's sting,
Thanks to the One,
Who fell with His face to the ground,
And prayed to His Father,
That if possible,
He may remove the painful cup,
Yet not as He willed, He said,
But as the Father willed.
Death has lost it's sting,
Thanks to the One,
Who hanging between Heaven and Earth,
Cried out in a loud voice,
My God, My God,
Why have you forsaken me,
And gave up His spirit,
Crushing the serpent's head.
Yes, Death has lost it's sting,
Thanks to the One,
Who has swallowed up death,
And gained victory for us.
The sting of death is sin,
And the power of sin is the law,
But praise God that He gives us victory,
Through Christ Jesus His Son
