dating problem girls HElP!

Hey Godsgirl. I didn't exactly date, but I had that same problem. It almost always happens. Well you have to remember that God is number one, always. He's always supposed to be that. if you look under the teens and ministry forum, under the dating/going out thread. i think it was createdtoworship that stated it well. you have to love God with all your heart. He knows what kind of person is meant for you. actually, He knows the person that is meant for you. He knows everything. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about dating. Like Paster Doud from City Bible Church stated, He looked through the whole Bible and didn't find a single thing about dating in there. So don't waste your time doing it. Ask God to help you find that one person, but don't rush into any relationships. God already has your special person picked out and He will supply the place and time for you two to meet when time comes. Isn't God awesome? Heck yea He is! Well that's part of the reason many devorse, they dont wait for God to lead them to the right person. If I were you I would wait, and when your time comes, remember the right person wouldn't lead you away from God. Like someone on here mentioned, it takes three to make a relationship work, God, the guy, and the girl. God being the center of everything. Just remember that. Tuff thing to get over! I myself have this problem very often but have lost many guys because of it. God can take any one you put above Him away. I find it best with my current boyfriend (almost 6 months) easier because we read bible together and pray together for ourselves and it helps. Like just now we were praying to get closer and less sad and stressed he is doing his final year at school and we fight alot about time spent together being too little. But ya all of a sudden we got this joy and started wrestling.. lol well it is easier because we warn one another when we are going off the track or putting the other one too high.
I hope he is the one..
But really look to God next time do everything with Him. Ask Him to guide you as a couple towards each other and even closer to Him!

Godsgirl, I would recommend a book to you to get your head around dating and what you want from dating. Read "I kissed dating goodbye" by Josh Harris. You can also do a google search for him and check out his site etc...My husband read it years ago and really enjoyed it, lots of wisdom.
Our focus has to be Christ. All too often what occurs in a relationship is because we can be insecure and look to our boyfriend for "gosh, do I look good today? Do you like me? Am I pretty?" etc and so our focus becomes on what he thinks of us. Oh we start out with the intent, "It is only God that matters" but we begin to change our opinion for approval to our boyfriend. Because we are human we begin to fall, sin creeps in before we know it we are in an unhealthy relationship. That does not glorify God, it displeases Him and we come under discipline.
The first thing you must focus on is where do you want your relationship with Christ to be in 1 yr, 2 yrs., 5 yrs, 10 yrs. etc...Do you want a Godly man in your life? Then you must be a Godly young woman first.
