Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

Today is a day of conflicted perspectives. Some will approach Halloween abandoned to everything that’s routinely celebrated while others refuse to participate in something they consider evil. While God doesn’t speak directly to the holiday, He has given us a great list of things that we can apply to the day—and every other day. Take some time to read today’s verses again.

Apply the attributes of truth, nobility, justice, purity, love, good reputation, virtue, and all that is worthy of praise to today’s plans. A clean conscience is one that points you to a decision that leaves no guilt in the sight of God.

The decision each person makes about the day will be expressed in freedom or caution. It can also be the result of fear or something more thoughtful. Each decision will be personal and each decision-maker will deeply hold to the rightness of his choice. Whatever choices you as an individual make, don’t allow it to divide you from other Christians (Romans 14:13-15).

Good points!

I'd add, though, that there are times when we need to separate (or divide) from other "Christians" (2 Th. 3:14; 1 Cor. 5:11).

Jesus will evidently even separate Himself from self-professing Christians, if those religious people are workers of lawlessness (Torah-lessness, Gr. "anomia", Mt. 7:21-23).

blessings...

The church I currently attend does something different on this day.
Instead of Halloween the day is designated as Harvest Festival. The parking lot is fenced off with only one entrance/exit. Now a days security is needed and we provide that as well.
The enclosure allows the children to have the run of the place. There are games, hayride, and they are each given a bag of candy. So, no need to trick or treat!
You'll even have Biblical Characters that move around as well.

Everyone is welcome. This way we hope to draw in the secular crowd, and show them something else, instead of the traditional Halloween fair.
Some, may even from this experience find a desire to come to visit on Sunday and hear the Gospel if they haven't heard it already!

All that we do is for the furtherance of the Kingdom, and most especially to the Glory of God!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
