Daily Bread (The Wonder Of Nature)

Read: Job 36:26-33

I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You. —Job 42:5

Growing up around the woods and waters of Midwest America, I’ve been fascinated with natural wildlife native to our region. But on a recent trip to the California coast, I found myself staring in breathtaking wonder at snorting elephant seals, barking sea lions, and a forest of silent redwoods. I watched pelicans soar in formation, and I saw migrating whales spouting in the distance. Together they are just a sampling of the millions of species that make up the intricate and delicate balance of nature.

According to the Bible, the variety of the natural world is designed to do far more than inspire childlike wonder. The mysteries of nature can help us come to terms with a God who allows inexpressible, unexplainable pain and suffering.

We see this in the epic story of Job. While he was suffering, Job didn’t know that God had such a high regard for him that he allowed Satan to test his faith with a series of losses.

What emerges is this eventual, unavoidable conclusion: A Creator who has the wisdom and power to design the wonders of nature is great enough to be trusted with pain and suffering that are beyond our ability to understand. In awe, Job proclaimed, “I know that You can do everything” (42:2). We can trust that kind of God—no matter what.

If God’s creation helps us see
What wonders He can do,
Then we can trust His promises
For they are always true. —D. De Haan

It’s good to worship God in nature
if it leads us to worship the God of nature.

God Gave More

I think in places like Calif in the cities nature is mostly unnoticed by all the traffic. All the people all the stores and businesses. Many who live in these areas do not pay attention to nature. But all man made things cars and buildings TV set radios lap tops and all this. The only time it seems that many will notice is when there are bad storms with lots of rain or in hot summers people can be very distracted to what man has made compared to what God has made. I know because I used to be lost looking at man made things.

God was nothing nature was nothing. Instead of driving try taking a walk. Look at the trees. Look at the clouds. Look at the sun. Look at the hills or mountains if there are any even the things man has made.

Remember God put that stuff there for us to use to build these things God’s nature is all around us. Even what man has made be glad and take notice God has allowed us to build these things and to do these things. Technology has not surpassed God. Technology is because God gave us the things to put together to make these. God is far ahead of technology by trillions of Light years. Technology is a joke to him compared to what the Lord can do.

Jesus said to the Samaritan woman may I have water? You a Jew and I a Samaritan to give you water. And Jesus said to her if you knew who I was you would ask me for water and I will give you water even more than the well. Where can I get this water says the woman. Are you greater than Jacob and of the well? Go get your husband Jesus said to her. I don’t have one. You are right says Jesus for you have been with several and your not married. She realized Jesus was the Messiah. She got people around Jesus amazed all of them. Man made things and technology is not our source. Just the water God can do greater than what we have.
