I tried to write to you about Egypt, and it's history in a breif, I hope you don't find this so boring LOL
Concise history of Egypt
After the great flood, Father Noah and his family came out of the ark and multiplied, Father Noah sons mentioned in Genesis chapter 9 verse 18
The sons of Noah who went out from the ship were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of Canaan. 9:19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these, the whole earth was populated.
All of us here in this forum and all over the world came from them, then what happened let us see, Chapter 10 verses 1 to 7
Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
10:2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. 10:3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 10:4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 10:5 Of these were the islands of the nations divided in their lands, everyone after his language, after their families, in their nations.
10:6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan. 10:7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
Then under the leadership of Nimrod, we built a city called Babylon, but we sinned, God dispersed us all over the world.
Mizraim, left with his family and settled here, so this land name in middle east languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Parisian, … etc) is Misr, and if you read Genesis chapter 50 verse 11 you make sure this is where Mizraim settled
When the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, “This is a grievous mourning by the Egyptians.” Therefore its name was called Abel Mizraim
So they called the grave with our father Mizraim because we are Egyptians, and Egyptians father is Mizraim.
God gave language to each family left Babylon, and our language was called Misr language, very soon we invented Hieroglyphics so we can preserve it, then we developed the letters into Demotic letters,
now this language is called Coptic language and it's written with Greek letters since the year 181 A.D, and only seven Demotic letters are used, we only use it in praying, we are not allowed to use it in life, but still some ignorant Muslims think we use it in magic like our ancestors did, and they turned down the Church of sule last March with that accusation, and in 20 of April it almost happened again, but we said we have Churches every where and we pray Coptic language it's our language, but they are still not convinced.
In phaaraphs era we believed that anyone rules Egypt must be a God, and to be a God, because only Gods are allowed to rule Egypt.
But to be a God he must resurrect from the dead, like the sun of Egypt, and phoenix, to be a God he must defeat death.
so we stuffed them to help them to come back from dead, but no one of them came back from the dead.
Thousands of years later we sinned, and Persians, (Iranians) invaded Egypt, they destroyed our nation, and civilization forever.
But then, Alexander the great invaded Egypt and liberated her, then he reserved all our praying traditions again, and chased the Iranians away.
Then one of his leaders ruled Egypt, but since 217 B.C we started to rebel against the Greek too, but we failed to achieve independence, and their last ruler was Cleopatra, she was killed by Octavos, but some others say she committed a Cobra suicide, any way Romans ruled us in 30 B.C
So before Christ was born with only 30 years, we became a Roman province.
The roman emperors ordered us to pray to them, while they can't resurrect.
Then a Libyan saint, (Saint Mark), whose rich family immigrated to Israel long time, taught us about Jesus, so we believed in Jesus at once, he was the true king of Egypt, whom we are worshiping until now, he's the God because he resurrected and didn't cheat us, so he deserves the thrown of Egypt.
We started to sing for him the tones we used to the false God pharaohs before him, because he's the true king, and we changed the words of the songs to become Holy, only for the new true king of Egypt, Jesus the Christ.
And we became Christians, no more Pharaohs, because Jesus title was the Christ which is driven from Chrism, not the pharaoh which means the high door.
But the Romans didn't like it, they killed most of us in genocides.
Later they became Christians in the Fourth century, but soon a denominations dispute started,
Later about the year 600 A.D Mohamed (he claimed he's a prophet which is not true) unified the Arabs, the Romans were afraid from Mohamed, so their prefect in Egypt (El Moukaokas) sent to Mohamed our daughters as slaves to satisfy him, because he knew Mohamed lives a wide sexual life.
One of them was named Maria, and the Muslims call her the Coptic Maria.
He also sent doctors, because Arabs had no doctors but Mohamed returned the doctors back, and said we don't need them!
Then Mohamed died, and his successor, attacked the world, including Egypt in 641, and captured the Roman prefect's daughter ! (El Moukaokas) daughter, but her father prayed to Omar Ibn El As (The Arabian army leader) to return her back and so he did, later the Romans withdrew to Alexandria in the north and El Moukaokas escaped to Turkey (Byzantine) and Alexandria fall.
Many Egyptians joined Islam and spoke Arabic.
In 1250 the slaves rebelled and ruled Egypt, and surrounding countries including Mecca, till year 1517
They called their state the slaves state, (The state of Mamaleek)
then the Turkish came along and defeated them, they allowed them to rule Egypt only under the rule of a Turkish prefect, so the slaves kept ruling us under the Turkish rule, and they bought more and more slaves, some of them were so savage that they even didn't have a name ! for example one of them was called the 2000 because he was bought with 2000 golden pieces, the slaves run Egypt until the year 1798.
Then the Great leader Napoleon, decided to free us, so he came to Egypt and defeated the slaves, in 3 major battles, he was so brave, and announced to the Muslims that he's not against Islam, but Egypt is more great to be ruled by slaves for so long, besides they are terrorizing the whole middle east, but the Muslims rebelled against Napoleon, and said the slaves are Muslims and Napoleon is not.
Napoleon said he will become a Muslim in the right time, but it was no good, and his troops was losing control, while the slaves were regrouping in south Egypt and coming back.
So Napoleon killed thousands of the rebels, and subdued them, and in a reaction he let the Copts ride horses and put Crosses on the Churches, pray on the died in public, and many other things.
But soon the British pushed him away from Egypt, anyway, he had a scientist named Shamplion who used us to pronounce our language, then he compared it with the Hieroglyphics scriptures, and he managed to decode them faster than another Brithish scientist, and we have a main tall street in Cairo on Champlion name.
Well, the French left in 1801, an Albanian leader (Mohamed Ali) ruled, he kept on fighting the slaves until he got rid of them in 1811, and killed everyone of them in a famous massacre called the massacre of the castle, at last we were no more slaves to the slaves !
And like that there were no more slavery in Egypt, and we started to recover from slavery soon, thanks to God.
Then Mohamed Ali family dynasty left in 1952, and the army ruled, and in last January we had a revolution and we have no leader now, only a transitive government, the first elected civilian president might be next September, I hope he's not an Islamist extrimist.
Anyway, The dynasty had to leave because the British were leaving, and Egypt were no more under the British occupation, so some people say the British betrayed the Dynasty, anyway they all left now.
I wish I could put some links to you, to hear our Coptic songs and anthems, many of them were dedicated to old pharaohs, but we changed the words to be suitable for Jesus, yet, it's our original language the language of Egypt, Coptic language, and the tones of Egypt, the Coptic tones.
Anyway, I have to make more posts before I can put such links.
Those songs and tones are used by all Copts, whatever they are, Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox, so this is why we say to the extremists of Muslims, that it's not black magic, but they don't want to understand, those extremists have been living with us all this time and they don't know us !!
