I was debating in myself whether to start this thread or not.

I am just hoping for a good and honest discussion.

It does not hurt to know this issue a bit better, and we can never exhaust the truths of the word of God.

Here are some verses:

Col 2:11-12
(11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
(12) Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Rom 2:29
(29) But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Whoever wants to participate, just speak away.

Ok well let us get to what the word circumcision means.

Under the old testament, it was the cutting off of the foreskin, but under the new testament it is also a type of cutting off, and it regards things via the heart, that is the circumcision of the heart, the cutting off of something.

So what happened ?

Do we check scripture so to see what happened, or imagine something in our minds ?

Well obviously, we go with the scripture, but as long as we do not change what it says.

Rom 6:6-8
(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Eph 4:22-23
(22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
(23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

When we got saved, our old man was crucified with him, he set us free from sin, and from it's power to reign in our lives.

So spiritually speaking that is what happened, and now we have a new man, a new heart, a new spirit, and now Christ resides in our new hearts.

Now is the sin nature still there, even though it has been put out of commission ?

Yes it is still there, that is why we have to put off the old man now and again.

So we get born again, but afterwards, now we have to learn to walk the walk.

And none of us have attained, and we have to be continuously be renewed by the word of God, we need to continuously feed our spirits the word of God, and renew our minds, and take up our cross daily and follow him.

So what happens, according to what the word says, in us, when we get saved ?

Eze 36:26-27
(26) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
(27) And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

This is what happens, and we cannot interpret it to our liking, we are called to believe it.

And of course God gives understanding on things, but whether we understand something right now or not, just believe it.

So then what is the circumcision of the heart ?

And who or what is the old man ?

There is victory in the cross, and the cross keeps sin at bae, the power of sin has been defeated by the cross.

And of course there needed to be the resurrection.

Taking up our cross daily, does indeed speak of a surrendered life to him, and we must choose daily to follow him, to not give in to temptation, and keep sin at bae.

And of course we overcome Satan by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony.

And we must grow in grace and faith.
