How many of us realize that a personal relationship with God is not just referring to the practice of having quiet times in the morning, or referring to God as our friend, but extends to all areas of life including our fellowship with other believers?
Religious Christianity teaches the way of methods (e.g. pray the sinners prayer) in order to receive some return (e.g. if you do this you will get this), which is to be saved from or go to some place (e.g. hell, heaven). And if you meet the requirements (faith, etc)you are guaranteed to receive the benefit (salvation) because of the contractual arrangement (Christ died on the cross, New Covenant). A corporate group of such people is an organization of which there is certain membership requirements to become a member.
However Biblical Christianity teaches the way of personal relationship (i.e. knowing Christ), in order to receive the benefits of the Person we know (He is the way, life and truth, John 14:6), which is to be saved to go to a Person : "I go to the Father (John 16:10)", and if we are known by and pleasing to this Person (Matt 7:21-23), we are guaranteed to receive the benefit not because of contractual arrangement but because of who He is and who we are in Him (John 15:4-5): Galatians 3:27, "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.". A corporate group of such people is not an organization but a living entity otherwise known as the Body of Christ which we are a member of because of who we are in Him, not what we have done (Gal 3:26).
