For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11 ESV
Unshaken people know they’re loved, and they love other people. Love dislodges fear and sends it packing. God has done that for you so you can do it for other people. The love you share should shine a bright light on the God who loved enough to rescue every willing person.
God the Father and Jesus the Son would both emphasize love as the primary command and greatest relationship tool the world can ever know. This love isn’t a feeling first. It involves doing. It’s giving something to someone who may not deserve it but who needs it more than most. It comes from a heart that longs to see others through the eyes of the God who created them and His Son who died for them. They’re precious in His sight and should be precious to you too.
Love is for the messy, the left behind, and those whom society has labeled misfits. It honors the outcast because God came to save everyone—including the outcast.
God created you to be bold enough to choose love over anything else.
Prayer: Father, You make a big deal about showing love to others. This love is a blend of kindness and compassion that pays attention to the soul behind the skin tone, the heart behind the street address, and the life behind the pain.
