Hello my friends.

I apologise for my naivete, I have only been a Christian since last year.

I am a mother of two, a boy (12) and girl (6).

I am worried for my little ones. My daughter has been baptized, but - what happens if, Lord forbid, anything happens to either one of them, and they haven't accepted Jesus in their heart, baptized or not!

I would welcome any thoughts...

God bless,

Hello sweet violet,

Well I think the immediate thing you should do is begin to tell your kids about Jesus. You did not give any details about where are the circumstances surrounding their baptism. From what I understand their baptism was not part of their receiving salvation but something just done.

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. Acts 2:41

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. Acts 8: 35-38.

When your kids receive Jesus then you will baptise them as part of their receiving Jesus as their Saviour. Hope this helps you.

Hi there HouseOfJudah, and thank you! :star:

My daughter was baptized after she decided herself! I have been taking her to church since she was a tiny baby and she has always taken part in the services.

I tell her about Jesus all the time - not lecturing, but speaking about His love and care, and how He loves all of us - especially children!

Bear in mind, she is only six, and asked to be baptized herself. When I was a child, I went to a 'Christian' school where little ones were taught fear. I think that's why I didn't really come to trust Jesus til recently - I try to instill in my little one that she is safe and loved - by a God that wants the best for her!

I am currently seperated from my husband, who is an active member of the church of Scientology. That's fine for him, but I want to guide my daughter to Lord Jesus - I feel that my husband was compelled to convert us to his religion, and I said 'No!'.

My son, who is 12 and has special needs, does not live with me, due to circumstances that took place when he was little. His father, and paternal grandfather, are staunch anti-church. When my son was born I was very young, and more interested in beer than spiritual matters!! :-)
So, I worry more for my son than my daughter. I speak to him every day, but live a good 250 miles away from him. So, I pray all the time that the Lord will watch over him. He will soon be an adult, and can make his own choices, and I will love him no matter what.

God bless you,

From your friend,

S. W. :girl: xx
