A few months ago, the Lord showed me something.
First, we all know that processed sugar is bad for you. Even alternatives are worst for you. White sugar, sweet n' low, Equal, etc are all horrible. Brown sugar in the raw in moderate amount is not horrible to your health otherwise. But, just about everything nowadays has processed sugar or sugar alternatives. Candy, snack bars, cereals, drinks (even so called 'natural' drinks).
Here's the thing now about kids and candy. Notice how candy makers are always using deceiving attention-grabbing methods to market towards the children? Example, Lucky Charms cereal uses the leprechaun boy. Other companies while use cartoon characters such as "Tiger" for Corn Flakes cereal. They'll give free toys in cereal boxes. They use the giant big red cup of kool-aid character in the Kool-Aid commercials with a bunch of kids all happy around this giant Kool Aid person. But, Koo Aid is all sugar!
All these gums like Bubblicious, Big Chew for example are all straight up flavored sugar and they target children.
Now, read this article about sugar and how it affects children's behavior:

So, you have most kids in this country at least who have obesity and other health issues due to poor diet. They devour sugar candies like its the greatest thing on the planet, or an idol in many cases (yes, they get addictive).
The conclusion is that the devil is very tricky and he will start his plan on ruining a life at the very early stage, starting with children who know no better than adults on the many things in life.
They devil has got these companies marketing towards children with free todays in their box of sugar cereals, gums, drinks. They got the fancy cartoon characters and the "happy" scenario going on in the commercials. You get the idea.
See how tricky the devil gets? Keep an eye on your children and be wise. Its not just "one piece of gum". Its not just a harmless toy. The harm is the food they eat. Do you love your children? Put a little more effort and get them a healthier alternative. Be stern with them and do not let them win the battle if they cry their eyes out because they want the cereal with the free too or the candy that has a very attractive package that grabs a kids attention undeniably.
