The REAL QUESTION is: Can a person who HAS NOT BEEN BORN AGAIN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT be "saved"??
"Christian" is a religious "Buzz word" that's been bandied around to the point where it means NOTHING - like "FAITH", or "LOVE"..
The answer, of course is: If a person has not been "Born Again" and infilled by the Holy Spirit, then they're only an Uncleansed SINNER who's SIN is still on them, and they're LOST, and hellbound when they die.
What "Label" they attach to themselves doesn't mean SPIT.

We all understand what the author of this thread is trying to ask. Can a person who is not a Christian, be saved.
Stepping away from the buzzword issue. Let us just get down to the nuts and bolts. To be Christian means to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. It also means that that person who claims to be Christian accepts all that Jesus says, even the stuff that we find hard to accept. I would state that it includes the breaking of the Bread and Wine becoming the Body and the Blood of Jesus.
Jesus says that if you do not receive the Body and the Blood that you will not be accepted into heaven.
Just as it was when Jesus taught this message, and many of his followers at that time left him because it was too hard to understand. The same thing goes now in all the denominations that cannot accept that teaching. Who's still claim to be Christian but cannot accept the teaching of Jesus.
Now there are many things that people do not comprehend when it comes to Jesus. We are so caught up in the concept that Jesus is human, that we completely forget that Jesus is way more than that
In the first chapter of the Gospel of John he States. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.
I find it ironic, that many of you here will say that you understand this. When in fact you do not. Why do I say you do not understand this, it is because you do not understand nor accept the bread and the wine becoming the Body and Blood of Jesus.
If you fully understood what was meant when John said the Word was God. Then you would fully understand what is meant when Jesus says this is my Body.
What is more, you do not understand the scripture where Paul is talking about the pagans when he States. For those who know the Law they will be judged by the Law, and for those who do not know the Law they will be judged by the Law written in their hearts.
Paul goes on to say, pagans who never heard of the Law but are led by reason to do what the Law commands may not actually possess the Law but they can be said to be the Law. They can point to the substance of the Law engraved on their hearts.
To understand all of what I've said. You must understand that when Paul is talking about the Law of God. He is talking about Jesus.
When God spoke to Moses, and God wrote the Ten Commandments on to those two stone tablets. The Word that was inscribed into those two stone tablets was Jesus.

FALSE - your "THEOLOGY" is nothing but "Head knowledge" and isn't related to being "BORN AGAIN", which is a HEART KNOWLEDGE issue.
A personal exchange between YOU, and GOD. If you've been CONVICTED OF YOUR SIN and of judgement by the Holy Spirit, and as a result, surrendered to Him, Repented, and cried out to God in FAITH (in God's WORD TO YOU) to be saved, then the Holy Spirit indwells, and EVERYTHING CHANGES. THEN Your Journey IN HIM has begun.
THEN - it's time (probably AFTER you've been Baptized - which is what one does AFTER they've been Born Again as a testimony - to TAKE HIS YOKE UPON YOU, and learn of HIM. Reading the Bible is a good place to start, as is Church Attendance. You've got the rest of your life to develop, re-think, adjust, and deepen your "theology". Roman 8:28,29 gfives the nature of the program - that the Born Again Christians becomes conformed to Jesus' image.
Sounds like Roman Catholic "Sacramental foolishness". I assume that you're a ceremonial Trans-substantialist, as "Catholic Tradition" teaches.
Then explain why the priest can't do too many masses without becoming drunk on "the blood of Jesus". Trans-substantiation is "Just another" Roman Catholic fantasy. The wine stays wine, and the "Bread" (a "Wafer" produced according to a Catholic recipe) stays a wafer, just like they did in the upper room.
Protestants do their "holy Communion" properly, as JESUS taught - in remembrance of HIM.

What it means to be Christian, is something of the heart. Jesus gave himself to all of mankind because he loved. Jesus tells us to walk in his footsteps, and what he means by this is that we need to love as he did.

I believe it's pride that's makes one want to claim a title.. I've stated before Christian was a derogatory name that the world called the followers of the Messiah.. for we r told His is a nation of priest..
Nothing derogatory comes from YH..
But then again ya got the woman calling themselves the b word n young blacks calling themselves the n word.. n ya got many who claim they r followers of The Messiah calling themselves Christian.. many sit comfortably in a false light.. sad just sad
