Brief Introduction

Hello, my name is Tommy, and my passion is for the truth, I was not saved while in the Church system for 15 years, as I was told that I was born a sinner, will always be a sinner, and there were no sins I had to stop to be saved or stay saved.
I have spent the last 10 months studying the word of God, and learned most churches today teach some from of false teachings, such as original sin, imputation, mixed with many other reformed teachings not taught by the early church from Christ and his followers.
I know many will disagree with me on many of these issues, but alls I know as I am learning is that the only requirement to enter into the kingdom is repentance and faith proven by deeds, 2 Corin 7-10-11. where I was taught the sinners prayer saves, you just confess you are a sinner, then trust that Jesus took your place and wrath on the cross, thus He obeyed for you, and His righteousness has been imputed to you.
I believe Jesus calls us not to confess and trust, but to repent and obey from the heart, and then follow Him on the narrow road!
I believe Jesus came to set mankind free from the bondages of sin, once and for all, asking us to repent or perish, Luke 13-3.
I have asked this question to many, many, spiritual leaders, and ministries, and thay all teach and believe there is no sin one must stop to be saved, and once saved there is no sin one has to stop to stay saved, and I mean the vile sins of the flesh, such a porn, adultery, drunkenness, homosexuality, which are listed in scripture, Gal 5-19-21.
I believe the sin stops in repentance, or the heart hardens.
I came to a saving faith through repentance, forsaking my vile sins and love of the world, standing aloof of the church system that is full of false teachings, telling the gullible masses you surely will not die if you sin against God.
I believe the most important question we can ask ourselves, is there any sin one must stop such a fornicating, adultery, drunkenness etc to be saved?
Or do we get saved then try to stop the sin after the fact, I believe the scriptures are clear. Isa 55-7, 2 Corin 7-10-11, Acts 3-19. and many other scriptures that tell us we must repent to receive salvation, not get saved then repent as most teach.
We don't save ourselves, Jesus does, but we become savable through real repentance and a working faith in love, yes its works, but not works of the flesh such a keeping ordnances, rituals, laws, but the works of the heart through an obedient faith in love. its repentance for the remission of sins, not get saved and repent later, you do not receive the holy spirit still double minded and carnal inside!
Before anyone accuses me of works salvation, or trying to earn my salvation, or teaching sinless perfection, ask yourselves one question:
can any vile sinner such as a child molester, or serial killer get saved without repenting first?

How you answer this question will tell much about your theology, and your view of sin, righteousness and judgement.

I just dont see in the word where this is accceptable, as Jesus made it clear, to go an sin no more. John 8-11, and again I mean the vile sins of the flesh, rebellion against God, premeditated sin, not mistakes, poor judgements, faults, ignorance, etc,, but willful deliberate sins of the flesh, which must be crucified with Christ, Gal 2-20, not in provision but in reality. Romans 12-1-2.

wow ..glad to meet you thats alot to chew on ..We live under Gods grace ..He knows the human Heart is continullay on evil ..That dosent mean we have a free ticket to sin by no means..its does bring us to the cross where Christ said FATHER FORGIVE THEM THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO..He knew we were not a perfect being because of sin in our lives....Our part is to seek God and His wiil for our lives ..But i will be the first to admit ive skinned my nose more than once only to find i was way off base from Gods will..But He always brought me back to squre and set my feet back on a right path..we dont seek sin any more as Christians but sin still seeks us out,,we will not be perfect until we get home and the Father welcomes us like nothng had happened and retores us to right standing according To Christ and His blood sacrafice,,through which we now have access to through Grace ....Rev Oh Yeah WELCOME TO THE SITE

Now that was a lot of information to digest.

I think you managed to cover some of the
greatest questions that theologians have
struggled with for centuries.

So I extracted part of your post below.

Not so sure that I would agree with what you have said.

This is not personal Tommy, I see this differently.

Here, have a look at this verse from Romans on
the origin of sin.

Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin,
and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.

So Paul is stating that sin entered through Adam's disobedience.

Tommy it is not what I think that matters, it is what God has revealed to us that matters.

Is there any particular sin we must stop or do we get saved and then stop that sin?

Each individual conversion is a unique event since every single person is a unique creation.
God deals with each of us in a unique way as only He can.

Some individuals are dark creatures, a life of crime. I do not think any church has time to
listen for the next two years as they list there sins before baptism.

On the other hand, I have heard testimonies from individuals who were raised in very
strong Christian families. Seriously Tommy some of these people never fully grasp what real sin is.
What repentance do some of these people offer.

Above all, regardless of the degree of conviction that the Holy Spirit furnishes. We cannot be to
definitive in the process of repentance and turning to Jesus Christ, from death to life immortal.
This is all God's work, it is never theology.

We can only stay within the confines of what God has told us in the scriptures.
God is the one who saves us through His kindness. God is the one who sanctifies us.
Jesus is the one we worship because of His reconciliation.

I once knew a girl who became a Christian without any conviction of sin.
It took ten years before the Holy Spirit convicted her of sin.
How do we define the level of repentance??

Hi Tommy and welcome.. The early church was as human as today's church. The Apostles spent a great deal of time putting out the fires of false doctrines and bad behavior as it emerged. To expect andyone to have perfect doctrine is to look for a perfect man and there was only one- Jesus Christ.
just my view but we will not all agree on everything until He comes back to set the record straight. In the mean time He left us with this:

Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.


Below are some guidelines I find helpful:
A church is a hospital for souls

Don't expect to go and not find anyone without at least as many problems as you have yourself.

If someone is hypocritical then church is the perfect place to get set free

Love more, look for faults less

If you want to be touched by God reach out and touch someone with His love

Love the unlovely

Be an encourager people don't need to be told what their problems are but instead they are looking for answers so point them to Jesus for He is their answer

Support your church, it takes a lot of finances to pay utilities, salaries, supplies etc., etc.

Be quick to forgive, give as much mercy as you yourself need (it's usually more than we think)

Don't take offense, see the people who hurt you through Jesus eyes and your heart will quickly change

Or as the Lord put it so very well- Love ye one another even as I have loved you- selah.
