Bible verses in times of stress

Ephesians 4: 19 - 24

19. Who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20. But you have not so learned Christ,
21. if indeed you have heard Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22. that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23. and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24. and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Colossians 1:16

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

My Thought: That says it all, when it comes to creation.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Romans 8:15

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, Abba, Father.

Revelation 1:7
NKJ Version
Behold He is coming in the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, AMEN!

Zechariah 12:10
" And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grives for a firstborn.

(Both these verse have to do with the yet to happen wrath of God to be poured out on all the evil nations.)

My thought: It is a good way to study the scriptures to find at least 3-4 that support the interpratation, you should always be able to find OT scriptures related to what is to come, in connection to the NT ones.

2 Timothy 3:1

But know this that in the last days perilous times will come:

My Thought: If you read the rest of chapter 3 it can be discouraging, but if we keep our eyes off the world, and focus on Jesus we will know we will be in Heaven someday with Jesus and living in a mansion that he has prepared for us.

1 Peter 2:1,2,3

1. Therefore, laying aside all mailice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
2. as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
3. if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

We are living in dangerous times but we should not get caught up in worldly problems:

Psalm 31:24
Be of good courage,
And He will strengthen your
heart,
All you who hope in the Lord.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
New King James Version

2 John 1: 7

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

My Thought: We should always watch out for deceivers even in our churches and wherever we go, we need to spend time in the word everyday and pray for the wisdom and understanding of the Holy Spirit and keep ourselves aware of deceivers as they are on the increase all the time.

Luke 11: 9&10

9. " So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
10. " For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

My Thoughts: Sometimes we might say if God knows everything we need and are thoughts, why should we have to ask for His help?
To me He does know everything about us and every thought and everything we need.
However going to Him in prayer is giving Him praise and the Love He deserves.
If your a parent and you have a adult youth that no longer lives with you, it's like my mother saying why doesn't my son at least call me once in awhile.
As far as wondering when God will give you what you need, I believe He has an appointed time for everything, He probally won't answer your prays and desires early, but He'll never be late.

1 John 4:1,2,3

1. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2. By this you know the Spirit of God; Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3. and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Psalm 91 (New King James Version)

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
