Oh...W5 is a News show & they are do an expose' on Hinn - Fruad. I would love to see the house he lives in personally. I did some reading about his wife today, very interesting.
I am certainly now aware that this man is after all a complete fraud. Sadly too.

Does one take the word of the World concerning a man of God? Would you have listened to a showy woman like Katherine Kuhlman? That woman was a powerful woman of God. Many many people were saved and/or healed in her ministry.
It's the same with Benny Hinn.
Who are we to judge whether a man or woman of God is a fraud?.....

I agree. I am aware many condemn the more prominent preachers, yet most probably do little or noting for God's kingdom themselves. I might have already shared my experience with him here, but will tell it again.
In a church we attended was a 12 year old girl with extreme rheumatism, deformed in all her joints, unable to sit up, walk, or even feed herself. She stayed knocked out on drugs, yet her mother brought her to church. That offended some folks who didn't return, her sight being too disturbing. The mother heard Hinn would be in Shreveport, LA, but needed someone to help get her daughter there. My wife and I volunteered, along with enough others to use the church bus. It was a very difficult task. When we entered the coliseum, all in wheelchairs were put on the ground floor together, and we were seated low in case needed. We had "ringside seats". At that time I was skeptical of Hinn, going only to help that woman.
As people entered there were gospel singers on stage, lots of live music, no Benny to be seen, scheduled an hour away. I noticed a yung man in a huge chair, hooked up to tubes in his nose, wrists, feet, a breathing device over his mouth. He was pale and frail, strapped on the motorized chair. As the singers performed, mixed with prayer and praise, the crowd slowly tuning in, I watched the man move. A crowd of helpers gathered around him. Then the man stood up, removing tubes, walking around. He was later called up by Hinn, who laid hands on him, and had him talk for the first time in years. No telling how many people saw Hinn do that and condemned him. Hinn was presenting that miracle to the world, not building himself up, having thousands of witnesses (us).
The girl didn't improve much there, though Benny laid hands on her and prayed. About a month later her mother brought heh to church well. Hinn paid her way to another meeting where she could testify. No doubt millions saw and heard about it, but cursed Hinn.
I won't. I know how it is with people taking their guidance from the world. The media has always taken a strong stand against miracles.
A lady in our church saw how God heals miraculously, so began having faith about her total blindness from macular degeneration. She was taken to a Hinn crusade, returned more hopeful. within a year she regained her sight, yet doctors say her retina is gone. She started a ministry, but was really way too old to travel long. Another lady heard her and got the same miracle, supposed to have an online ministry.
In common has been a lot of folks coming away from those crusades with great hope to begin having faith.

It's not about judging the man. For God will be doing that.
You should be weighing all leadership against the Word of God. If you don't do that. You will leave yourself open to deception.
Hold what the person says against the light of His Word and you will find out much. Listen to what they say. Does it agree with scripture or is it just a little off. If you look at how many people are following him, and decide this is a valid method of weighting the validity of the persons message. You will be in for a fall.
For it is Jesus Christ that you should be following and not the man behind the pulpit. If you have preachers praising each other more than they're praising our Lord and Savior. Start looking for an exit.

You're not wrong here! I learned many years ago to test the spirit. Keep in mind though that if one tests the spirit and does not listen to the Holy Spirit but rather does it cranially ( if I might coin a word?) then one runs the risk of losing a blessing and falling into legalism.

Most of our vacations have been centered around Christian crusades, starting with Billy Graham's, then adding in others. Usually the cities have lots to see and do. Those meetings, like Benny Hinn's, are always lengthy, sometimes 4 hours at a time. What you see on TV is but a tiny fraction of all that happens there. What you don't see is church volunteers moving around ministering to people where they sit or stand, laying hands on them, praying, seeing miracles happen, people delivered from all sorts of problems, helped to figure out what kind of church they might fit into back home, all sorts of helps. That happens in the hour(s) before the main event, and when the key preacher initiates a ministry time later after praise and worship. All denominations are liekly to be there, none protesting anything.
Sermons go much longer than typical time slots on TV. Enough gets preached to gain a very good understanding of how biblical the ministries are. We've heard some very disappointing statements from them all, even Graham, but if I screened them all based on an occasional error (what has usually been my ill-informed disagreement), they would all be on my ignore list. Some are. In Hinn's case, Jesus is heavily preached, so is the blood of Christ, salvation a key topic. Most do preach Christ very well, while some jump onto their doctrines of expertise, such as healing, like Oral Roberts for many years, and the Abrahamic blessing basis of Christianity like Copeland like to preach.
I've been corrected by the Lord many times over criticizing ministries, usually over a few minor complaints. I've stopped opposing any if they preach Christ simply based upon
Mark 9:38-41 (KJV) 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
The disciples were obviously in error being against a man ministering in Jesus' name, even if the minister does things differently. If a critic of a minister like Hinn has never taken the time to actually go get a whole picture of that ministry, how can you be certain there was enough information in a small TV segment to be just in judging his message? From experience I know it's necessary to diligently observe any ministry, any preacher, far beyond one sermon that was mostly disliked because it was too different. Much of what Hinn has been attacked over are not Bible facts, but his opinions about doctrines, which is a major basis of creating more denominations.
Probably most of the alarms against preachers is over their money issues. Again from experience I know most of the complainers resist giving to any ministry, even their home church. In addition, complainers over money tend to not be vessels of money, unable to bless anyone but themselves and theirs. Christians that are generous with giving and tithers tend to always have significant financial involvement in at least one ministry., beginning with their local church congregation.
I refuse to risk prosperity over unbiblical complaining about how someone else deals with money they are responsible to God for as stewards. If I grow to disagree with a ministry, I simply move support to the ones that are better on track. It isn't worth causing your own blessings to become more like curses by cursing anyone, especially if they are a fellow Christian. It's not wise to be a remover of eye splinters, most of us trying to do that with a 2x4 beam in our own eye. Challenge doctrinal error instantly without destroying a brother.But to do that you must know the Word well enough to sort the good and bad. Not many Christians can do that, so they rely upon some "scandal" of a preacher living in a wonderful castle.
