sometimes you care alot about what people think because you want to belong and fit in specialley if you dont think you do fit in or if somethiing is new to you.

it can make you feel vunerable when you want to fit so bad but dont get down about it or bend all diffrent ways to make yourself fit. you will fit with the people who you need to fit with as they get to know you and you get to know them and that takes time and two ears.

We are called to be salt and light . Our influence (by the presence of God we carry) should affect and "flavor" others. Everything we touch can be changed to some degree as we walk in faith . As far as bending- we are in the world but not of the world so it will just have to bend it's knee to Jesus.:shade:

Wow! That is so true. I use to be just like that. I cared so much about what others thought that I would do what I thought they wanted me to do. That left no room for me to be myself.

Well, to be happy with others we first have to be happy with ourselves.

My view on this was trying to fit in because you are embarrassed when all is so new to you and you don't want to sound stupid by asking questions. But, then you lose out because others think you understand and talk over your head.

That's what happened when I accidentally got onto another Christian forum before. I pretended I was a Christian and tried to fit in. I mostly did a lot of reading of posts to try to get it. Finally, one person could tell I didn't, and he privately spoke with me about it. That's when I really began living, when I finally learned how to surrender my life to Christ Jesus. That's when my eyes were opened.

That guy must have had good observation skills
Thanks for the personal experience :)
I remember a time when I did the same. I used to date a guy
that would always make fun of people and I used to laugh along
to make him like me more, and after a while I started hating myself for
it and eventually dropped the guy. I am with a much better person
now :) and now I am glad I can just be me around him, and what is
even better, is he is also Christian, so he is a much better influence.
