And they shall know [from personal experience] that I am the Lord their God, Who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them; I am the Lord their God. Exodus 29:46 AMPC
Things too good to be true require proof. In Exodus 6:7 (AMPC), God told the Israelites, “And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that it is I, the Lord your God, Who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.”
It was great news, but...”Moses told this to the Israelites, but they refused to listen to Moses because of their impatience and anguish of spirit and because of their cruel bondage” (Exodus 6:9 AMPC).
The people needed some proof, so God performed miracle after miracle, bringing them out of their bondage and toward the Promised Land. Then He reiterated Himself in today’s verse.
God still wants to dwell among His people. It is too good, but it’s true nonetheless. And He is still willing to prove His intentions. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, God has brought us out of our bondage to sin and leads us toward His promised land. He wants us to personally experience His goodness and trust Him even more.
Prayer: God, You have freed me from captivity and called me into a relationship with You. Help me always believe in Your promises in my heart.
