My wife's hoarding and other issues have caused our landlord to force us out. Last week the toilet began to leak. My wife waited too long to report it with the result that water damage ruined carpet in our apartment and soaked the carpet outside in the hallway. This was the last straw for the landlord (we've been warned twice about her hoarding/messy housekeeping issues).
Some folks fault me for not taking leadership in my home. They need to understand two things: 1) I was an active alcoholic when my wife and I married - I'm now sober 28 years - but my wife has not yet accepted the idea that she needs help in dealing with my alcoholic past and thus much anger boils beneath the surface in her life. 2) She came from a non-alcoholic but still dysfunctional home where mom became the leader by default (because dad feared controversy)and she believes that that's the way it should be in our home.
Please pray for our housing situation and our marriage.
