Hey folks, Raithlin here.

I'm introducing myself as a new member because, well, I've not been here on Talk Jesus since registering way back when. I had registered in the beginning, but had a change of lifestyle right afterward which included pulling out of all the forums I was frequenting at the time.

I figure that seeing as I am getting my spiritual life back on track, and being more involved at my local church, that it wouldn't hurt to give TJ a go again. Here I am then - Hi! :shade:

Hello prodigal and welcome back home ! I've been on since 2011 and I can tell you TJ has been a blessing and the changes Chad and The Lord has taken Us through are nothing short of the spirits leading . I look forward to hearing of you're journey away from and back to God , been there did that like a dog to its own vomit ! But we serve a God of second chances , and thirds and fourths if that's what it takes He never gives up on us ! He even saved you a seat !......Rev

Thanks for the welcome. I have had a torrid few years, spiritually speaking, but there has been a revival in my heart of late - mostly because of my involvement in the "kids' club" at church, but also a conscious decision on my part to be more disciplined in my daily walk.

That had nothing to do with my leaving the forum in the past though - that was me getting tired of posting to too many forums. I experienced a backlash from too many debates about my beliefs, specifically concerning evolution. That put me off arguing online, and I left quite a few forums as a result. I'm hoping that TJ will be a positive influence, and help me to maintain a fruitful walk this year (to start with).

Do you recommend any particular forums to get started with? There appears to be a lot out there... :baffle:

Welcome back to the forums @Raithlin

Glad you're here again

Welcome back brother.

Never better then when brothers in Christ come back from a journey.

You will have to regale us with how God has been moving in your life these past few years.

Love it in your bio when you say "... the Bible is the ONLY source on which I can depend" So very true.
More Christians should be so dependent!

Once again welcome.
See you around.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Regale? :D

To be honest, the last few years have been a lesson in trusting God. He has allowed us to be brought to our knees financially, spiritually and emotionally. It has been hard, and I finally broke on Christmas morning. I was looking at a separation from my wife (in her then current state she was depressed and rejected her Christian beliefs), and our joint business was on the rocks, and pulling us down in so many ways.

Christmas morning then (how apt was that?) saw me reaching out to a prayer partner, and spilling my guts, as it were. Together we asked the Lord for guidance and strength. I asked the Christians I know at work to pray for us as well.

The results can only be described as miraculous. Within 2 weeks my wife and I had a heart to heart talk, and to a large degree we have smoothed things over (no separation, and most importantly she is back with me at church :D). We had agreed to sell the business in order to salvage our lives - and a deal was reached with a buyer just yesterday. Interestingly enough, the sale amount will not make us rich by any means, but we will be able to settle the company's debt. Finally, my wife (after months of searching with no success) has found a job - in a new career direction - and I believe she is signing the contract on Thursday. This has all happened in the 4 weeks since Christmas. The timing and response to our situation cannot be attributed to luck, fate, or even hard work - it must be the work of our Lord, and I feel I must give Him all the glory for His continued presence in our lives.

Caught that huh? LOL
Awesome testimony brother!!!!
God is so Good & Gracious!
Alleluia!

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Greetings @Raithlin

Welcome to Talk Jesus.

It is wonderful to read of the Lord's working and leading in your life.

May He continue to lead and bless you as you look to Him day by day, moment by moment

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28

Thanks for those, Fragrant Grace. I have also been hanging on to the delightful yet seriously helpful Jer 29:11.

"I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future."

See you all around!
