And the man said to me, "Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you [were] brought here so that I might show [them] to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see." Ezekiel 40:4 NKJV
Have you ever been in a situation where you knew you needed to open your mouth and speak the Gospel message, only to freeze up at the moment of truth because you weren’t sure what to say?
Moments like that are exactly why the apostle Peter wrote, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15)
So how can you be prepared? Ezekiel gives us a good clue. Before an angel of the Lord showed the prophet a vision of the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, he told Ezekiel to pay close attention to what he was about to hear and see—and then tell the people of Israel everything he had heard and seen.
Obviously, Ezekiel wouldn’t have been able to tell the people about something he hadn’t paid proper attention to when it happened. That’s why we Christian men need to pay attention to what God teaches us in our times of prayer and Bible reading. When we do that, we’ll be prepared when it’s time to tell others about Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, Jesus, thank You for teaching me and preparing me to share my faith with those who need You.
