Joh 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
Jesus always approached the Father with absolute confidence. We are to display that same level of confidence as all barriers between us and God have been removed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. We have been given the very righteousness of God in Christ and it is on that basis that we are accepted. Our Father hears our every cry and always responds as we demonstrate faith in His Word.

Joh 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
What a great day when Jesus called us out of the tomb of dead, godless living and by the Holy Spirit breathed new life into us. Let us leave the tombs of our old lifestyles and habits and walk with the Master.
Joh 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
When we are born again we are indeed given new life and have a new calling to walk with Him. However we are still in need of some help. We are still covered in the grave clothes of our old existence. We must help each other to be loosed as we grow in faith according to His Word. As we are renewed (or made new) in our thinking we are free from another stitch of that old garment and are also free to help another in that area.. Praise God let us walk in the liberty into which we are called- selah.

When we are born again we are indeed given new life and have a new calling to walk with Him. However we are still in need of some help. We are still covered in the grave clothes of our old existence. We must help each other to be loosed as we grow in faith according to His Word. As we are renewed (or made new) in our thinking we are free from another stitch of that old garment and are also free to help another in that area.. Luk 5:38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.

Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices
Col 3:10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

2Co 2:14 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.
2Co 2:15 For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,
2Co 2:16 to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life.

Exactly.

Thinking otherwise is saying God's grace is not sufficient to save us and keep us saved. If you're saved and truly in Christ, God keeps and sustains you; you do not have to strive to keep your salvation. It's a done deal.

Thinking otherwise is religion, not a relationship.

Thinking we're still wearing our "grave clothes" is what the pharisees would think. It's what most Catholics think. It's religion, not the Good News of the new Testament.

If you are in Christ, you are a new creation. If you are in Christ, He will not stop until He's completed His work in you. If you are in Christ, there is now NO condemnation.

Jesus' last words on the cross will always ring true, "It is finished." It's finished. Believe Him. There's nothing left for you to do to be saved. He did it all. It's about HIM and what He's done for us, not about what we do.

Jesus Christ died once for all - to bring us to God.

Coconut, Honestly I was not implying that at all. and that is out of context with the message I was trying to get across. However even a great communicator (which I am not) will be considered accomplished if 20% of the folks he interacts with him understand his implications and thoughts. I am quite sure the problem is mine as I tend to fumble with my words.
When you are born again the mind has to be renewed in every area or you life will be relativley unchanged. When the Holy Spirit imparts revelation we must be willing to change our way of thinking (our old life, grave clothes , etc) . I am willing to bet that if you guys are anything like me there are still pieces of your old self that have to go and there were more than likely many more when you started your walk. But I could be wrong about that.
Perhaps I am the only one who still needs to shed every aspect of his stinking thinking.

We are quite free to disagree. I personaly do believe that the work of Christ is a finished thing but I also believe the scriptures teach that we must be renewed in our thought life which frees us from our own actions. This does not mean I have any condemnation because honestly I do not, Christ is my righteousness.

I am quite sure that we should experience freedom from the old as we walk with Christ or the Holy Spirit would not have placed so much emphasis on this through the writings of the great Apostle.

God is Tripartite; Father, Son, Holy Spirit. God created man in His own image- tripartite: spirit, soul and body. Whenever those three are listed in scripture they are listed in that order of pre-eminence - first spirit- then soul- then body.
If one begans to understand the nature of the tripartite man (spirit, soul and body) then the scriptures come into clear context. For example:

An examination of the new man or born again spirit reveals he has the characteristics of Christ:

This new man is given to us at regenerationAt the ressurection we are given glorified bodies.The soul of a man (mind, will, emotions, intellect) is the part that Jesus came to save


Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

It is this soul that much of the Pauline episltes are directed at as it needs to be renewed in it's very life force (spirit) and way of thinking

Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind

So we receive an new spirit when we are born again, we receive a new body at the ressurection and our soul is being saved.

The spirit receives revealtion.
The mind receives this life (revealtion) and believes.
The body follows the thoughts of the renewed mind.
All this done in the power of and submission to the Holy Spirit. This is how the Christian walk is walked by simple child like faith in Him and obediance through His leading and empowering.

And no I do not expect you to agree with me on everything, we are all at different places in our walks and have all learned different things. What I present is however rooted and grounded in scripture.
