Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?*What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 2 Corinthians 6:13-16
To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.**And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him.*For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 1 Corinthians 7:12-14
Just yesterday I found myself having a bit of a strong discussion with a friend of another faith. We where speaking of marriage between two people of different religion. I told him in my believe a husband and wife must be of the same faith for there to be a good marriage. He said to me he sees no reason why. To him being with someone of your own kind meant a human not marrying a dog. I said problems will arise in marriage if the couple have different believes such as what faith to raise there child in or even before marriage what church to marry into if they both have different believes. My friend is a Baptist and his planning on dating and perhaps in the future marrying a girl that is Catholic. I think I was trying to give him something to think on if he does decide that he will marry someone outside of his religion. But now I myself wonder if there is a passage in the bible speaking on marrying someone of a different religion since it seems 2 Corinthians 6:13-16 is only speaking on marriage between an unbeliever and a believer.
Thanks
