Do you ever feel vulnerable to attack? Are you afraid that your responses to provocation may cause you to be unrighteous? Don't go into battle unprotected; instead, clothe yourself in God's armor. In verse 14 - 18, Paul characterizes this armor as truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation. He then finishes with the action of praying. Trust that God will equip you with the tools you need.

(read Ephesians 6:11)

I am struggling with this very much right now. I believe I have been under attack by the enemy since I was a young child. I didn't really realize this sooner, and now I don't even have the strength to fight. I keep praying and begging God to help me, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good.

Then keep praying for it is in praying that we stop expecting Him to hear us instead, we start hearing Him.

Good advice, but I've been praying my whole life, and I've never been able to hear Him.

Sister, make sure you are praying with the understanding of what Jesus has given you. Prayer without understanding does nothing. The power is found in what you know in scripture, and the power in the name, and blood of Jesus Christ.

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

If God isn't answering prayers it is because we are praying amis. Pray spiritual prayers. When ready and it says I pray, pray for that.

If we are not hearing from God, it is because God isn't hearing from us. We ask amis.

He then finishes with the action of praying.

Actually the Scriptures states:
Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Praying in the Spirit [praying in tongues] is a necessary component of the full armour of God.

Jude verses 20-21
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Given that we fight not flesh and blood but spiritual wickedness we need to activate the most precious gift given unto believers - the indwelling
Holy Spirit. Thus when we pray in tongues we empower the Holy Spirit to work and cleanse us from within; to empower us to be conquerors and
overcomers.
When we recognize temptation and our own sinful wrongdoings/failures we can pray in the Spirit to deny and resist the flesh; our old selves.
Praying in the Spirit daily and with fervour keeps us free from the power of sin.

1Corinthians 2:10 & 14
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

That is why Jesus declared emphatically that to become a believer [disciple] a person must be born new by water and the Spirit.
John 3:3 and other verses
3 Jesus answered, and said to him: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
5 Jesus answered: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
7 Wonder not, that I said to thee, you must be born again.
8 The Spirit breathes where he will; and thou hear his voice, but thou know not whence he comes, and whither he goes: so is every one that is
born of the Spirit.
