Jeremiah 21:9 Whoever stays in this city will die by the sword, famine or plague. But whoever goes out and surrenders to the Babylonians who are besieging you will live; they will escape with their lives.

Are we willing to endure treason for God?

Jeremiah preached treason against Israel. He asked her people to surrender to her enemies in times of wars. If ever America went to wars with another country, and God told you to ask the people in America to surrender to that country, are you willing to do that? If you are willing to do that, you will be consider a traitor to your own country. You will be committing the worst of crime in your country, treason.

Yet, that is what Jeremiah did. He committed treason against his own country, for the sake of the Lord. He really loves God by his actions and not his words.

What about you? Are you willing to commit treason for the Lord?

Hello @hishandmaiden
First and foremost, in Christ Jesus do you believe that the country we find ourselves living in is "our country/home"?

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, Ephesians 2:19

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore [you] on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20

Who are we seeking to please?

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

I'll leave you with this verse Sister.

The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Comparison of ourselves to Jeremiah and Israel is somewhat difficult. Israel was a theocracy, whose political Head was God. God made His will known to them through various methods, prophets being one of them. The actual traitors would be those who refused to hear God's Word through Jeremiah. They were traitors to their nation and God who was the Head of that nation. But the country had become so rebellious against God, and that rebellion travelled all the way to the top, the King, that Jeremiah would be seen as the traitor. But he was not.

Jeremiah was certainly viewed by the King and the false prophets as traitor against them, which means he was treated as such.

Here in the U.S. it won't play out that way. God is not the political Head of the U.S. as He is with Israel, even though He establishes all governments. Because our country is based on Christianty, then the less it becomes Christian, then the more it too is ready for the judgement of God. As it is now more pagan, and growing faster everyday, then born-again Christians are going to be viewed as evil and traitorous. We reject this acceptance of the LGBT community. We reject this acceptance of all world religions. Thus we will be labled as hate mongers. We will be the trouble makers of this so called glorious diversity. So, if you are willing to take a stand for Christ, you will be viewed as a traitor.

Just like that poor kid from the Catholic church that didn't do anything but stand and looks at the one who was aggresively intimidating him. And that was an older man of some 60 years old coming against some Junior High kid. And how did they spin it? The kid was guilty of hate.
