God’s love and provision for His people don’t mean we won’t have to endure seasons of uncertainty, darkness, and waiting. Patience and uncertainty are both vitally important parts of the life of faith. Although the hopes of the writer of the scripture passage above for God’s speedy response are a very normal and natural response even today, God’s timetable isn’t always going to line up with our own. In fact, it rarely will.
An earnest, honest prayer that pleads with God may be the best prayer you can offer during difficult circumstances. Many of the psalms make urgent requests of God or ask tough questions.
Waiting patiently can test your faith, and there’s a lot you may not know about what’s going to happen next. Yet you can rest assured of God’s love for you and of the fact that such waiting is a normal part of the life of faith.
Prayer: Lord, help me cling to You as I wait for Your response to my most urgent needs.
