Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us. For nothing restrains the LORD from saving by many or by few." 1 Samuel 14:6 NKJV

Jonathan never said, “I’m just one person. What can God do through me?” bold for God and dependent on Him alone, Jonathan attempted difficult tasks for God’s glory. He always sought God’s will before taking risks, of course, and he didn’t go it alone. Then again, Jonathan didn’t put his trust in his armor-bearer, who he instructed to climb up behind (not ahead) of him.

No wonder Jonathan was drawn to David as a committed friend for life. The cliff climber met the giant slayer. The first man went up the side of a mountain on his hands and feet to fight a well-armed contingency. The other man took five small stones and slung one at a Philistine giant’s head. Both knew what it was to trust God’s power in the face of overwhelming odds.

Have you ever had that experience? Are you bold enough to do so again?

Prayer: Lord, You want me to trust Your power to do Your will Your way. I trust You wholeheartedly today.

Johnathon was a man of great faith. It wasnt his fault his father was the way he was. I just recently read a book that is dramatized about Johnathan (but according to scripture)... its part of a series of books about people from scripture that are unsung hero's, Johnathan was one of them.
