Are you God who just Loves some?
I once thought!
But when Christ showed me his heart
How elaborate, your Love expressed,
That even me He died for,
Who deserved no mercy,
For that I thank you,
Allowing love to speak.

Are you God just faithful at times?
I once thought!
But when Judgement for my sins fell on Him,
And your back, to Christ , it turned.
Even when He called out on the cross,
Justice would have to be satisfied
Keeping with Your ancient decree,
That nothing You won't do which You said.
For that, Lord, I can trust in your faithfulness.

Are you God So far away?
I once thought!
But when Christ, Into my life He came,
All that burdened me he joyfully shouldered,
Cleansing me for his abode,
Making my whole His own,
Inscribing my name in His palms,
Working in my innermost by His spirit,
For that Lord, I can't doubt You are present with me.

Because that Love wholly expressed,
For nothing exchanged
Upon a people enslaved,
Through Christ revealed
Is Love so real,
By a God enthralled,
By His Love,
And for that, I know you have Loved me
