Are We "Sinners Saved By Grace"?

In "ROM 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." Paul is saying that the core essence of a believer is Jesus not that of a sinner. The sin we still struggle with inside our flesh isn't our new true self but an unwelcome squatter. The Holy Spirit who is our main resident convicts us when we obey that squatter's bad influence.
