Anyone heard of the " May 21st end of world" group

I've been seeing these billboards all over and wondering if anyone heard of them or knows someone in this group.

i am wary of those who set dates but this is not the first time harold camping has set dates the first time he said jesus would return in 1988, then he said 1989.so i am not putting any hope on what he says

I agree bro, if it doesn't happen then all these followers will be doing, is camping with Mr Camping... Pray for them that if it doesn't happen, that the sincere ones will move on for God...

WHY would anyone HOPE that he is right and WANT it to happen?! I just don't understand all of these people just wishing that doomsday would happen and the world would be destroyed!! that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! your hoping for a worldwide disaster.. that's just stupid! and why rush it anyway? if your going to be in heaven forever, why not enjoy it here while you can?? Some people just get so caught up in this stuff that they don't enjoy or appreciate hardly anything in life! (my mom is one example of this) There are so many wonderful things that we can enjoy here.. and once we leave we will no longer have much of it.. I have hopes dreams goals and plans for my life and I want to carry them out and enjoy them! why rush it!??? enjoy it while you can!

I definitely do NOT wish the world to end right now, there are so many lost and unsaved people and they shall not perish, and I hope as many of them find Jesus before the world ends.

I just hope a mass suicide is not the end result. The reality is people probably went out and spent all their money.

It's kind of like what happened with the Millerites in the 1800s; many people have sold all of their belongings for Campings Campaign.

The aftermath - regardless of what happens - should be interesting.

That said, I don't think "Eternal Earth-Bound Pets" will have to take care of any animals tomorrow...

Well, I'm still here.

The outcomes of this as I see them

• A large amount of money has been spent on a publicity campaign
• His message has been contrary to the biblical teaching that no-one knows the day or the hour
• People of fragile faith have been left disturbed, anxious, rocked in their belief
• The reputation of the church as a whole is brought into disrepute
• Many of this man's followers have been deceived
• When he made his prediction, nobody was able to bring him to account

People like this will always be around - the Bible warns against them. My questions are why is the body of Christ at large is so ineffective in neutralising these destructive voices; what could be done to prevent such disreputable incidents in the future; how can the true gospel of God's justice, grace, love and peace be communicated.
