Genesis 6:1-3 in the King James version of the Holy Bible it reads,

"AND it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

"That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

"And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."

First question:

Who is it refering to when it says "sons of God"? (verse 2)

Genesis 6:5-7 in the King James version of the Holy Bible it reads,

"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

"And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

"And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them."

Second question:

Since it says that "it repented the Lord", does this mean that the Lord sinned?

Third question:

If man is the one God was upset with, why did He destroy, also, the beast and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air?

Genesis 6:11-13 in the King James version of the Holy Bible it reads,

"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

"And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for ALL FLESH HAD CORRUPTED HIS WAY UPON THE EARTH.

"And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth."

Fourth question:

Since it reads that "all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth", does this mean that beasts and creeping things and the fowls of the air can, also, sin?

Fifth question:

Why did God destroy, also, "everything that is in the earth".

Genesis 6:17 reads,

"And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die."

Genesis 7:21-23 reads,

"And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

"All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died."

and Genesis 8:21 readeth,

"And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for MAN'S SAKE; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done."

Sixth question:

If God will "not again curse the ground any more for man's sake", why did He do it that one time? What was the significance to it, if any?

Genesis 8:22 reads,

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night SHALL NOT CEASE."

Seventh question:

When it states that something "shall not cease", does that mean that it will continue to time indefinite? If so, why does it say in another part of Scripture, in St. Matthew 24:35:

"Heaven and earth SHALL PASS AWAY, but my words shall not pass away."

In other words, how can the earth remaineth and not cease 'til time indefinite if it will pass away? (Does not make since, does it?)

I have more questions but I will stop there, for now.

Those are all questions that have been on my mind and were never answered. I hope someone can answer them. I will keep checking here.:lightning

First answer:

Who were the “sons of God”?
Well, some say that they were the sons of Seth. And because a part of his successors were faithful to God, some say that the expression “sons of God” is appropriate for them. But I don’t think this is right. I’m gonna’ show you why… The Bible is exact in differencing these two categories. One is the sons of GOD and the other, daughters of MEN. Thus their direct origin is distinct. Also, the words “sons of God” are used in this form only 4 other times in the Scriptures (I think). 3 times in Job (job 1:6, 2:1) -> the counsel before God, and Satan is described as on of the “sons of God”, and one other time in Job 38:7 where God talks about His creation of the universe. The last time it appears is when Nebuchadnezzar throws s Jews in the fiery oven. He then sees 4 people, the look of the fourth being similar to that of a “son of God” So, I think it’s pretty obvious that these “sons of God” were not human.
I’m guessing that they were fallen angels, who after sinning with Lucifer, had fallen on step lower, to having sexual relationships with humans. This sounds very strange, but it isn’t, really. .. One objection is that Jesus himself says that angels don’t get married. (Mathew 22:30) But I think He is talking about God’s angels, the ones that never sinned. Evil spirits, fallen angels, or demons, however you want to name them, are among us. We might not see them, or feel them, but they exist - the New Testament speaks about them. And who knows whether they don’t use their power and knowledge to turn themselves into humans? Genesis 18:1-8 and 19:13 speak about angels who had human bodies, ate and drank. From here, there is just one more step to what happened before the flood.
Also, see verse 4 of the same chapter in Genesis. It talks about the giants. Could they have been the children that these angels had? Possibly… They were superhuman, “mighty men”, “men or renown”. But they were Godless so He decided to deal with them. The Israelites encountered a similar race, in Canaan – the Anakim. Probably, after the flood, this incident repeated itself, but God used different ways to punish them.
Oooh… One more thing… :secret: About this giants... Did you see how science tries to find answers for the building of the pyramids, and other great ancient monuments that seem impossible to build even nowadays? Well, we might try to give a thought to the idea that these giants might have built them… Seems plausible….

Thanks for sharing.

It's taking along time for anyone to answer these qestions. Perhaps, I shared too many at one time or, maybe, others have had the same questions as did lisette and just haven't gotten around to seeking out the answers or haven't been able to come to any conclusion.

I've been searching the Holy Bible to find more verses that have the "son of God" in them so I can compare them to the Genesis account; however, that takes a long time to do and, if it is true that someone has already done this and found that there are only 3 or 4 other verses that use those words, then, you can see that it was going to take me a very long time to find them.

I was hoping someone, here, knew. I am so glad you know of them and where they are located. I will have to look them up, myself, and see what the Holy Spirit tells me.

I've heard that Christians believe that they were "fallen angels" but, as you did share, I thought that was way off course and strange.

The most important truth, right now, is that...
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man can go unto the Father but by Him. (John 14:6)

Eccles. 3:14-15
I know that whatever God does,
It shall be forever.
Nothing can be added to it,
And nothing taken from it.
God does it, that men should fear before Him.
[15] That which is has already been,
And what is to be has already been;
And God requires an account of what is past.

Noah was the tenth generation from Adam ten to me is significant of a new begining the same with Abraham ten generations from Noah and Twenty From Adam God sees all of history and the future it looks to me that God wanted to save a pure line of the decendants of Adam through Noah destroying that which had become corupted to begin again with Noah, so that a He could send a savior that was a decendant of Adam Jesus being the sixty fourth generation from Adam the square root of 64 is 8 the name Jesus is 888 when you covert letters to numbers im not shur which languange though. I hope this will help a little Gary

I agree with Ecclesistes 3:14-15 but on the same token, how can a person study God's Word if they keep skipping over parts they do not understand? I've skipped over parts, over the years, and then when an unbeliever or a young one in Christ asks me about it - I have not the answer.

I agree that there are some things that only God knows and that will stay with Him 'til He chooses to reveal it; however, when it comes to His Word for which He has given us to read, meditate on and get to know and understand - I believe He wants me to search it out. Some things I have; others, I have not. Since, we have many Christians from all walks of life, here, I thought I would ask about some of those I have not searched out, completely, or that have been tough for me to search out.

Thank you for sharing about "a pure line of the decendants" - that would, actually, make since.

"True wisdom itself keeps crying aloud in the very street. In the public squares it keeps giving forth its voice." Proverbs 1:20 in the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

"For Jehovah himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment." Proverbs 2:6 in the NWT

"When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul.
"Thinking ability itself will keep guard over you, discernment itself will safeguard you." Proverbs 2:10-11

this is what i understand God made man in His Own likness but He made us a little lower than the angels in power and might now im quite certain tha God intended to rule all of creation through mankind it is writen that we shall judge angels and angels seek the knolage that is revealed to man by the Holy Spirit if the line of Adam had been contaminated by Angels then there would be a dispute as to who gets the authority to rule all creation.

Okay, we rule God's creation because, I remember, He said in Genesis 1:28 (NWT):

"Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth."

So, we have dominion and control over those created things but who is the "ruler of the world"? "The ruler of this age?" It is Satan, a fallen angel. Correct?

John 12:31 in the NWT of the HS reads,

"Now there is a judging of this world; now THE RULER OF THIS WORLD will be cast out."

John 16:11 reads,

"then concerning judgment, because THE RULER OF THIS WORLD has been judged."

Acts 26:18 reads,

"to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from THE AUTHORITY OF SATAN to God, in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by (their) faith in me."

2nd Corinthians 4:4 reads,

"among whom THE GOD OF THIS SYSTEM OF THINGS has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."

Ephesians 2:2 reads,

"in which you at one time walked according to the system of things of this world, according to THE RULER OF THE AUTHORITY OF THE AIR, THE SPIRIT THAT NOW OPERATES IN THE SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE."

1st John 5:19 reads,

"We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of THE WICKED ONE."

So, we (man/humans) have been given authority to rule over God's created things but Satan, who is a fallen angel, has been given authority to rule over what? (Please specify) _________________________

Because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.

Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have known the Father.

Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And you have overcome the wicked one.

1 John 5:18
